Coucou is a French-inspired restaurant with two locations in Los Angeles: West Hollywood and Venice. Our menu blends timeless bistro classics with California produce, served alongside ice-cold martinis, French aperitifs, and low-intervention wines. Designed around conviviality and elegance, Coucou celebrates the spirit of aperitif culture in warm, stylish spaces just steps from the ocean and the heart of West Hollywood.

Wonderful spot to meet friends, grab a drink and enjoy some wonderful food.
Everything here works. The staff are friendly and attentive, but not overly so.
The food is prepared brilliantly. Flavors are exceptional.
We ordered a little of everything. The Farmer’s Cheese had great texture with the toast. The ceviche was different in that it was creamy, delicate and felt hearty at the same time. Lobster spaghetti had a great balance of perfectly cooked pasta with chunks of lobster meat. Gnocchi is scrumptious! And don’t forget dessert. The vanilla sundae was the cherry on top of a fabulous evening.

Had an amazing meal at CouCou in West Hollywood! We shared the whipped farmer’s cheese, ceviche, zucchini beignets, and gnocchi Parisienne – every single dish was absolutely incredible. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We also had both desserts, and they were so delicious – definitely save room for those! I sipped on one of their perfectly crafted martinis, which was a great bonus since we went on a Monday (martini and burger night – I skipped the burger but happily enjoyed the drink). The vibe is chic yet relaxed, making it the perfect spot for a night out. Can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu!

We came to celebrate my 30th birthday and flew in from Miami with a group of five, excited to try a new spot. Unfortunately, the experience was a letdown. Our server, George, was rude, dismissive, and clearly uninterested in serving us. Even after mentioning it was a birthday, there was zero acknowledgment.
The food came out at awkward times — some dishes cold, others hot, and several not cooked as requested. We were also never offered a second round of drinks (which ended up being fine, as we wanted to leave). Overall, the table felt uncomfortable and honestly embarrassing.
The manager was okay, she offered us free t-shirts (still waiting on them to be delivered…) and another server, Gio , was EXCELLENT — attentive, kind, and the only bright spot of the night.
One final note: the menu states they “don’t believe in tipping,” yet a mandatory 20% service charge is added, which felt misleading given the level of service we received.
Service and execution matter, especially for a celebration — and unfortunately, this experience missed the mark.

It’s a shame our experience ended so poorly because we really enjoyed the food. Unfortunately one of our entrees was forgotten and instead of expediting the replacement, it didn’t arrive until after we had all finished our meals for 10-15 minutes. We were kind about the mishap and assumed it would be addressed. Upon receiving the bill we were shocked to see not even a cocktail had been removed as an apology gesture. There was also a 20% fee added for our party of three. Upon speaking to the waitress we were told the manager declined her request to adjust our bill for the poor service but she would send the manager over. A very unapologetic woman approached to explain the fee was not gratuity just a charge the restaurant places on all meals and that she would remove a $20 dessert. For a $600 meal for three before gratuity I’m really taken back by the poor service. A simple entree removal would have kept this group happy enough to return instead they’d rather lose customers than take accountability. There’s too many excellent restaurants in Los Angeles to ever return to one like this.

Bar tenders made an otherwise disappointing experience better…
We went for their Happy Hour which is literally for an hour. Service was very slow. They have a deal where it’s pick 3 for $33, but since we didn’t order all 3 at the same time (because we were waiting for a friend to comeback from the washroom) they charged us extra.
No flexibility on the drinks i.e. having the martini in their HH menu gin based or dry.
Food was great, but service ruined it for us..

Cozy restaurant with great ambiance. While the food was delicious, service was quite slow and our order honestly just showed up sporadically and never together.
It took about 45 minutes from the time our order was placed before our appetizer arrived and another 15-20 before the first entree was dropped off. However, none of the entrees arrived together, with the rest of the party having to wait about 15 minutes from the time the first persons entree arrived before the rest were dropped off.
We appreciated the complementary sundae from our server to make up for the delays but overall quite a let down for what could otherwise be a great place.

Food was lovely, atmosphere was brilliant. However, this was a very awkward experience. We requested a booth for a party of four but were denied on the premise that it is reserved for larger groups. Less than five minutes after being seated, 2 people were seated in the booth for the duration of our meal. Mid way through the meal, a man starting taking pictures of two women sitting at a table (capturing everyone else in the restaurant), walked all over the restaurant taking pictures, and proceeded to take pictures of guests dining inside from outside the restaurant. The staff made no effort to deal with this man or acknowledge the situation. Our server asked us multiple times if we wanted dessert (on the first round, we simply asked for the check), as well as if we wanted the check (lol). Lastly, a woman was walking around with customers’ food and would constantly touch her phone and plates/glassware. As we were trying to leave, she was blocking our path while talking to another table. We respectfully asked for room to leave, but was ignored. Not that it should necessarily be common sense, but no thanks or gratitude was shown as we were leaving despite spending $200+ on happy hour.

Not sure what the hype is, considering the prices. And when I go to a French restaurant, I expect to be blown away. Nothing stood out, your servers seem to know basics about wine but nothing in depth. It was just a frustrating, typical new LA dining trap experience. Also that guaranteed tip you use to pay your staff is sad, considering I used to be in the industry. No wonder your servers barely know anything, I wouldn’t either if that’s what you’re paying. Anyways go somewhere else.
To the business owner, some more details because you seem to be dismissing my review. A medium steak shouldn’t come out cold in the middle, and when sent back I’d expect some kind of apology from the server or kitchen but that never happened. Your servers also couldn’t answer my specific wine questions.
Restaurants that use tips to pay their servers are withholding their staff from making decent pay.
Thank you for your feedback.

Beautifully laid out restaurant with a superb dining experience. The menu design aligns with the look and feel of the space and this new spot feels like an instant classic. The burger with fondue cheese and the French onion soup were outstanding. Shrimp and muscles also 11/10. My friend had the steak which was cooked perfectly and looked fantastic. The prices were more than fair considering the quality of food, especially considering the location. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you!

Hayley was wonderful to work with during the planning process, and the staff the night of were so warm and attentive. They truly went above and beyond to make it a very special night.
