Circa-1946 restaurant serving BBQ ribs & other country cooking in a cozy, diner-style space.

A mile and 3 turns off the highway, you’ll find Couch’s. They are the real deal. Been there since 1946 and just the amount of locals inside should tip you off that the food will be the southern BBQ you’ve been searching for. Both the chicken and pork were amazing. Desserts include sweet potato, pecan, and buttermilk chess pies. We shared the latter and it was a great finish to our meal. The atmosphere was the cap to our stop, though. Everyone waved or said hello as they entered. Cozy, friendly, and delicious. Would definitely return if we are in the area!

I love their bbq sandwich, served on a toasted bun, with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and hot cole slaw. Am taken aback at how good their St Louis style ribs, seasoned with their house dry rub, and smoked on hickory rub are!!! The place is like walking into a time capsule, established in 1946. My favorite is the coke in the small bottle.

First time trying this place out and really not sure if I’m impressed. Although they call it a “bbq” place, I don’t see how. Ribs are only served Friday and Saturday. Essentially, the menu consists of chicken or pork. Both sandwich’s weren’t seasoned well and lacking flavor. The Cole slaw was absolutely flavorless. Chili tastes like it’s typical canned at the store. The hot slaw was very interesting but didn’t enjoy the flavor. You can’t beat the pricing compared to every other place nowadays. Might come back one day to try the ribs

This was our first time going. I ordered a pork plate with potato salad, baked beans and slaw. I didn’t see it on the menu, but the pork is shaved.. It wasn’t the best but not the worst. The slaw has no flavor at all. The beans and potato salad was good. Our waitress never came back to check on us for refills. Another lady actually came to check on us. It’s an old building but was very clean. Prices are reasonable. We ordered the buttermilk pie and it was good. The sweet tea was the best thing we ordered.

The place is an old fashion feel to them. It’s be the type of place I would come back to eat. It has great food. And the service was excellent. Everyone who works here are friendly. I would tell people to come and try the food.

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve been in my life! The food is so good and staff so friendly and warm, they make you feel home. The BBQ sandwich was good, but the smoked potato with brisket is out of this world. Definitely coming back and trying everything on their menu lol

Casual country BBQ. Ate lunch here with my parents while on a visit. Unassuming atmosphere with some historic nostalgia. I had a garden salad with BBQ chicken on top. Very tasty and refreshing. A wide variety of pies available. Friendly staff. Clean restroom. Reasonably priced.

The strawberry pie and hot slaw are amazing! I personally like pulled pork vs thinly sliced. It’s personal preference, but I had to try it. Tea is fantastic. Okra, beans and potato salad are okay. Service was great! I recommend trying it for yourself.

When a 60+ year old man tells me it’s the best BBQ he’s had in his life- there is only one reasonable option for a late lunch.
This place did not disappoint.
Matter of fact it single handily restored my faith in Tennessee BBQ.
I ordered the BBQ Combo Plate with the St. Louis style ribs and shaved Brisket. For my sides I selected the green beans and hot slaw.
The meats were BBQ’d to perfection, the Signature Sauce has the right amount of spice, and the sides complemented the entrees very well.
The service was good and the drink refills were provided promptly as promised.
As a first timer here they made me feel very welcome, and provided great hospitality.
My only recommendation is for them to sell the Signature Sauce in Mason jars to go.
Highly recommend this BBQ establishment to all passing through the area.

This was a let down. The BBQ plates are overpriced for what it is. The BBQ prok was ok. The fried okra was the best thing on the plate. The fries were good, but the green beans tasted like they were from a school lunch. So, the fried okra & sweet tea were the best things there. To feed my family of four, it was close to $50.00 & definitely not worth it. Needless to say, we won’t be going back anytime soon.
