Second time here!! There’s needs to be music playing! It was so quiet and they sat us close to two other tables, so we were afraid to talk. Our waitress was nice and friendly. My steak was $44 dollars and worth every penny My jalapeno margarita was da bomb!! We all enjoyed our meal, and hope to be back in town soon to visit Cottons again!

We arrived on Tuesday around 5:55pm just in time for the special. This was our first time here . We ordered fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, unaware that they were fried in the same oil they fry the shrimp in. My son is allergic to shrimp so luckily we asked. The waitress was very kind , she also informed us that my Son wouldn’t be getting the asparagus that came with his steak because it was also prepared on the same grill where shrimp was cooked. My youngest son who is a chef has told us about cross contamination when cooking foods. I’m very surprised they don’t have a way to cook these foods separately. I would expect a restaurant with these prices to be able to do better. As for the steak my son said it was extremely good! My shrimp was really good as well as my sister’s fish . I was expecting to get a complementary dessert or something due to them not being able to give him the asparagus.
Although that didn’t happen.
I can Say that our waitress was very polite and courteous.

We ate here on our last night in Orange Beach. It was directly across from our hotel. Krisinea (spelling) was our waitress. She was great. She knew the menu well and was very helpful and attentive. We started with the fried green tomato appetizer. It was very good. For dinner, I ordered the chefs evening special of blackened grouper over Gouda cheese grits. It came with grill asparagus. My wife ordered the stuffed shrimp with the Gouda grits as her side. We then split the crème brûlée for desert. Everything was amazing. The grouper was cooked perfectly. It had a crab cream sauce on top as well. I tried one of my wife’s stuffed shrimp and the stuffing was excellent. But the grits…. the grits were simply devine. Creamy and spiced or seasoned with something we could not identify. I wish my cheese grits were that good! The crème brûlée was also better than others I have had. It was served in a deeper dish. This allowed what I thought was the perfect burned sugar-custard balance. This restaurant is celebrating 40 years in service this year. And it’s no wonder. Eat here. You will not be disappointed.

We both had the five oz filet mignon with baked potato and iced tea. All we can say is WOW!
Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the flavor was like none we have had before. Some sort of smoke and deliciousness like never before. The potato was hot and fluffy filled with butter sour cream and bacon and chives, a virtual perfect match to an outstanding steak.
Our server was as cute as she was efficient without being obnoxious about it at all.
Oh and the apple pie? If you don’t believe in old fashioned all American hot apple pie it’s because you have never dined at COTTONS in orange beach.
Overall outstanding all around.

Everything was good…service exceptional, loved the atmosphere . My husbands filet was rubbery/chewy add burnt. He didn’t eat it. The server did take it off and did offer for it to be recooked, we just declined the kind offer. The spicy cove shrimp was good and my stuffed chicken was decent just really salty. Otherwise it was good. Yes I would be back for another try and the service.

Amazing experience! We were there during the slow season and received private service. The food was some of the best we’ve ever had. Steaks seasoned and cooked to perfection. Delicious sides. The staff were all amazing!

The service was great, don’t get me wrong, but the food was not good. Especially for the price. The fried mushrooms were flavorless. We ordered a 10oz steak (made up of mostly fat) for nearly $50. The crab legs were old, cold, and had very little meat in them. The restaurant smelled musty but was pretty once inside.

01/24/25 Our waiter, Joe, was attentive, kind and friendly. We also spoke with Remy and Ms. Mona, the manager. Amazing group of people. We ordered a hamburger, but they were out. We did go in at a later time (7:45p) and there was also a snow storm, so we get it. We then ordered a drink and an appetizer. Both were fantastic.
01/25/25. We came back for dinner and ordered the burger that we wanted last night. When we walked in, it was like coming to visit family. Remy greeted us as soon as she saw us and Ms. Mona came around the corner with a huge smile and hello. We got the most amazing freshly handmade burger and fries. We were served delicious desserts as well. We also met Sara Grace. We watched her with a party of 12 – Every staff member treats each customer like family whether they are serving a large group or an intimate couple. Friendly, courteous, and respectful! Mouthwatering food! If you are ever in the area, it’s a must stop. Can’t say enough good about them.
