We found a flyer for this place at our hotel and they offer gluten free so we gave it a try. I had a gluten free price buster with plant based cheese and my boyfriend got a price buster and we shared a salad. There was a coupon in the flyer for a free bottle of ranch and that ranch sauce was darn good. All of it was. Heaps of toppings, hot, delicious. Absolutely would recommend.

Tried calling in a pizza. No answer. Drove there and asked if they were open. They said yes and claimed phones were not working which was a lie (Phones were ringing off the hook inside). The two workers were standing outside in back of the place when we pulled up and they were not working. They said one of their workers randomly decided to go downstate today so the only other guy working had to recruit his roommate to help. Phones rang off the hook and not once did they bother to answer a phone and only one person came to pick up a pizza in 30 minutes, so they weren’t busy either. Upper Management could do a better job. The people were friendly which was probably the most positive part of the entire evening.
One large deepdish and cheesebread took 25 minutes to make, which was a lot longer than they said it would take. The cheesebread was raw dough in the middle and severely undercooked to the point we had to throw it away. The deepdish pizza itself was lackluster and the dough was like eating cardboard. Tasteless and hard. I can feel the pizza sitting in my stomach after 90 minutes and it is not a good feeling. Not worth the money or the experience. Sad because we had high hopes. Definitely different from other Cottage Inns from my past.
Would not recommended. Pretty much anywhere else in TC is better. We gave it a shot but yea, 1 out of 5 stars. Four of us eating all agreed.

Jake, what can I say. Not only was this the best pizza I’ve had in a long time, but the owner an his soon to be wife, kept us entertained during our wait. What a great man/owner and such a lucky soon to be bride. We’ll certainly be returning customers.

This is a top-notch traditional pizza. Not a thin crust but a light, airy yeasty crust. Fresh sauce, great tomato base for the cheese and toppings. Baked perfectly. Golden and a little dark around the edges. Cheese melted smoothly, toppings were fresh and hot. Pepperoni had zip. Great pizza. And Cottage Inn is a Michigan tradition (in more ways than one). Fresh toppings were always standard, and still are! Prices are what you expect today but that kept it from soaring into the 5 star area. (No seating inside, but 3 picnic tables with umbrellas out front. And if you order through their app, your pizza is ready exactly when the app says it will be ready.)

Ordered pizza for our entire hockey team. They called a half hour after the order was placed and said they are busy and would be later then the requested time. We understood and said ok. They then called back again after another half hour and said the same cant do your order sorry. We now have 35 people (majority kids) without dinner.

I really like this pizzeria. When I lived down state there was one near me and what I really like are the varied toppings. I like that you can do gluten-free, I like the combinations of flavors, and the online ordering was simple. I got the chicken mediterranean, and the favorite as well as a Greek salad and the cheesy breadsticks. What I really like is that the dough that they use is well seasoned, it’s not like eating cardboard like so many of the other chain Pizza places. I will be back.

Traverse City, the bar has been risen because the competition has just arrived. I just had my first pizza, the deluxe with butter Parmesan crust and it was really good. The ingredients are high-quality, it is evident. The cheese is great so I would try this pizza place for sure. We’ve got a lot of great pizza in this town and this is now one of them. Great customer service, speedy delivery.

I placed a big order to feed a crowd: 10 different large pizzas. It was a busy night (8/3/25) and my order was still ready on time with no errors. The cashier was friendly and helpful. And the highlight of the night …. I was able to introduce a ranch drizzled pizza to a kid from California.

We really wanted to support the new pizza place and ordered a carryout pizza.
Immediatel so a 6″ hair stuck between two slices…that was the end of that experience.
I returned the uneaten pizza for a refund. The cashier was understanding enough but couldn’t refund the charge without a manager. The manager seemed put out and yelled from the back he’s too busy right now and to wait which I did for 10 minutes.
He came out and asked what the issue is and asked me to show him the 6″ hair which he located after close inspection.
The charge was offset with an attitude and no apology whatsoever from him.
We won’t be back nor will our family and friends who are also local. Too bad— we wanted to like it and are looking for a pizza/sandwich place to cater an upcoming large party.
