We came in later, about an hour before they closed. They served our family of 5 and waited on us like we had all the time in the world. The folks there were so kind. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. It’s a great place to take kids and have some delicious comfort food! The food was seasoned nicely and warm. I definitely recommend this place for families who want to enjoy each other’s company in a laid back atmosphere, with great food.

Went by positive Google reviews and ate here on a Sunday at 1:45. It was a bit out of the way with us traveling home from Blairsville to ATL, but glad we did! We both had the Cottage Special, 1 meat, 2 veggies, cornbread (delicious) and dessert. Very reasonable price! We had fried chicken, chicken tenders, black eyed peas, collards, mashed potatoes, fried okra, peach cobbler, strawberry pudding – which we haven’t eaten yet, too full! All very good! Only negative was them being slow to clean tables, they were swamped! Would love to eat here again if we’re ever nearby!

We called and placed a to-go order for three breakfast plates. I spoke with Brianna and had to ask many questions about ingredients because I have dietary restrictions. She was able to answer all of the questions with patience, kindess and care; and made sure I got a superb meal that met my needs. (Thanks Brianna)!
When picking up the order the whole staff were welcoming and the food was hot and ready. I even loved the way they packaged the breakfasts, using wax paper so the fresh food kept better in the to-go boxes.
We enjoyed all of it and will be back.

The Cottage House did an excellent job catering our fundraising event! The staff was timely, professional and helpful. The meal was outstanding and our guests loved it. Thank you for your support of nonprofit organizations in the community. Highly recommend if you are looking for catering for your next event or a sit down meat and veggies at the restaurant is great as well!

Something is definitely different with Cottage House. We have been going there for years. We would drive down from Blairsville or head that way if we were in the Gainesville area. We have taken several couples to this restaurant over the years, it was so good.
Good food at a reasonable price.The past year the prices went higher, portions smaller and staff not so good. We went there to try again today and this will be our last trip unless we hear something changes. The food was not tasty to say the least. The volume of customers has gone down from what we can tell from the past years of going there.
As of 3/1, drinks (other than water) has an extra cost addition to the Cottage House special price, which is no longer special.

This is a “meat and three” nestled between the mountain towns of Cleveland and Clarkesville.
I got the meatloaf , rice and gravy and macaroni and cheese. Thank God for some country cornbread , not that sugary stuff so many places have .
Everything tasted just like my momma could have made it . What else needs to be said ?
My wife had the fried chicken , green beans and black-eyed peas . She cleaned her plate .
I knew it would be good when I walked in and it was full of working men and old folks . When the old folks are there you know it’s good .
If you like country cookin’ it’s worth a look.

Fantastic southern comfort food and a different menu each day of the week. Half of the price of most fast food places and twice the quality. I had the meatloaf (which was moist and really good) along with broccoli casserole (best broccoli casserole to date), green beans, cornbread, and froot loop cheesecake. My husband had fried chicken and said it was very moist and flavorful. He had potato salad that was really good along with creamed potatoes and gravy. He said those were some of the creamiest potatoes and tasted fresh, and the gravy had a really good spiced flavor. He also said that the coleslaw was better than KFC. We will be back !

Wow! I seldom eat country cooking. I’m from Deep South Georgia roots and know good food. and this is sure good food! Seasoned to perfection and if it’s not fresh it sure tastes it! Creamed corn, cabbage, black eyed peas, green beans fried fish, chicken, rolls, and cobblers and real homemade banana pudding- at a fabulous price. Great Vacation discovery. We’ll be back!
