Starting off saying that staff was great. Two young ladies greeted me as soon as I came in. Place is clean and there is plenty of parking and restrooms available. Wasn’t impressed with the food the asada burrito had no flavor. The meat was just missing seasoning or salt. The fish taco tortillas was very good. The fish taco batter and fish was good but the cream was too much. Presentation was great and the food came out hot.

The fish tacos and potato tacos from our order tonight were very good, however, almost $20 for a California burrito is excessive for a burrito full of French fries. There was hardly any of the condiments that are supposed to be in the burrito. :/

Beware of Cotijas. If you are looking for bad, over priced Mexican food with poor service and an unpleasant atmosphere, I have found just the right place for you! I was eager to find a Mexican restaurant for some good rolled tacos and I decided to try Cotijas for the first time. I was encouraged by the long line of cars in the to go line, but I quickly became discouraged because the line of cars moved so slowly and it took me more than 20 minutes to finally get to the cashier who was surprisingly rude to me. I ordered Cotijas number 2 daily special that contained 3 beef rolled tacos, a carne asada burrito and a small drink. I also ordered Cotijas “homemade” flan. The total price of my order was $25, and for that amount of money I expected the food to taste great, however I was very disappointed. The rolled tacos were soggy and filled with cold, tasteless meat. They were also covered with a thin layer of what looked like watery avocado spread vs. real guacamole, and cheep tasteless shredded cheese. The carne asada burrito was filled with a small amount of gristly, chewy beef, under cooked onions, and an abundance of what looked like cheap brown gravy that tasted like it was poured into the burrito directly from a can. The flan was tasteless, rubbery, and sitting in a pool of brown water, and the ice tea tasted bitter and stale and as if it was left sitting in a kettle for too many days past its prime. This was by far the worst Mexican food I have ever had, and in a region of the country where Mexican food is supposed to be good (southern California), Cotijas is simply an embarrassment to Mexican cuisine, and it should be avoided at all costs by those who are seeking a good meal.

Decided to try a different mexican cuisine for dinner after i got off a long day of work. I purchased the Birria Melt and 3 street tacos. What started out as a pretty decent flavor experience turned into an aggressive vomit disaster. Something was seriously wrong with the Birria melt. I’ve never vomited my eyeballs out like this before. Something was wrong and my taste buds and stomach did not agree with this food. I will not be trying this place ever again. The staff was friendly but after that eating experience I can never convince myself or anyone else to dine here.

Drove through tonight at 8:44pm and ordered our meal. When we arrived home we noticed our three Carne asada tacos were missing and called the restaurant to notify them. Immediately, Rosie claimed she packed the one bag herself, implying I was lying. I reiterated that they were missing, so she told me to come back. After eating our crispy tacos, we realized we didn’t need to drive back tonight. So, we called and asked if they had found them and realized their mistake yet, and to ask for credit because we no longer wanted to make the drive back. Rosie again claimed that two of them packed the one bag and they were there. Once again, I assured them they were not and that I frequent their establishment quite often and have never tried to defraud them, but to no avail. Very rude, unprofessional, incompentent, and dishonest. It is sometimes hit or miss on the food, especially Wednesdays, but our kids really wanted it after Bible study. The chicken tacos were very dry and too large of chunks. Beans were good, fries were supposed to be well done, but were not. Also, they switched to packaged salsa instead of fresh. Boo. And, the one time we ordered inside, there was a very strong sewage smell. They have lost customers.

Menustar screwed up my online order but the staff were so kind. They called their operations to verify they receive orders thru Menustar and then offered to remake my order super fast – all while my husband was trying to entertain our fussy 6month son in the car while I ran in. Going to be back for sure – talk about customer service!

This is one of the best place to get carne asada fries! They have a half or full size option but I always get the full size. It comes with a tortilla on the bottom so you can roll it up like a burrito at the end. They have street tacos for a low price on Tuesday and Wednesday! The birria tacos are good but it doesn’t come with the sauce. Sometimes the wait is long during dinner time in the drive thru but it goes by pretty fast. You can also go inside and order if you prefer.
