I marked food as four stars, my pork tenderloin was very dry, however to their credit my wife’s was perfect.
High Hill Farms is a luxury resort community sprawling over 200 acres, offering many unique experiences. The one experience in particular that brought me out was the restaurant on the premises. Côte.
As my wife and I first pulled onto the property, we immediately felt like we crossed over into some magical place. Everything was beautifully lit up. I definitely didn’t feel like I was in East Texas anymore.
We walked inside and were instantly greeted by a very friendly hostess. She showed us to our table and informed us that our waiter would be with us shortly.
My wife and I were taken back at the sheer ambiance. Certain aspects reminded me of something out of a Southern Home magazine. Within a few minutes our waiter arrived. I hate that I can’t remember his name, but he was truly amazing. He handed us the menu and took our drink order.
By the time he came back, we decided on an appetizer. We chose the Artichoke Spinach Dip. We also ordered 2 of their caesar Salads. He also brought out some bread and butter. I know this is going to sound silly, but that butter was the most amazing butter I’ve ever had. My wife agreed 100%.
While waiting on the appetizer and salads, the waiter brought out our drinks. The first drink was a High Hill Autumn and the second was a New York Whiskey Sour. Now I rarely ever drink, but they suggested these and I couldn’t say no. Both drinks were absolutely incredible and frankly just nice to look at haha.
Then came the Spinach Artichoke Dip and the caesar Salads. The dip had these fire roasted jalapeños that added such a unique flavor, without making it spicy. We absolutely loved it. Even the chips were nice and seasoned. On to the salads. When I tell y’all this was hands down the best caesar salad I’ve ever had, I mean it. Even my wife said the same thing. You can tell they clearly make their own dressing. I think the fried capers also added that extra flavor and the perfect amount of texture.
Next thing you know, the chefs brought out the main entrees. The first being the 8oz Filet Mignon with Parmesan Reggiano Gnocchi and Garlic Haricot Verts. The other was the Osso Bucco with a Cabernet Demi Glaze, Bacon Parmesan Risotto, and Corn and Peppers.
I’ll start with the filet. I’ve never had a more perfectly cooked and seasoned steak and I travel all over the United States for a living. It was truly exquisite. I could have used a spoon to cut it. The next thing I tried was the gnocchi. I have always been a fan of gnocchi since I was a little kid and it’s something I look for at restaurants during my travels. None has came close to what I had last night. Even the Haricot Verts (fancy green beans) were mind blowing. Whatever they used to season them with was incredible.
Now for some of the stuff I’ve never tried before. The Osso Bucco (Veal Shank). This was one of those foods I tried where my eyes uncontrollably rolled back into my head. It reminded me of a somehow more tender ox tail with way more meat. It paired perfectly with the Demi glaze. My wife couldn’t get enough of it. I then got to try risotto for the first time. It was rich and creamy with subtle hints of the bacon and parmesan. It reminded me of the ultimate comfort food. Last, but definitely not least was the corn. Both my wife and I were honestly shocked at how good this corn was. I was a bit unsure due to the peppers being mixed in, but oh my gosh was it incredible.
It was finally time for dessert. We ordered both desserts because we knew we couldn’t decide on just one. I ordered the ButterCake and my wife got the Pot De Crème, seeing as I can’t do chocolate. She absolutely loved hers and said it had a very rich chocolate flavor and a velvety texture to it. My ButterCake came out nice and hot with melted caramel on top. After letting it cool off for a minute, I jumped right in. I can only describe it as heavenly. It was incredibly moist with slight crisp edges and although it was sweet, it didn’t seem like it was overly sweet.
Highly recommended!!!
The bruschetta was one of the best I’ve had nationwide! Truly delish and worth every bite! Savory and dreamy all the way to an empty dish!
The salmon and sides were heavenly! The crust truly took me to another level! Cooked to perfection!
The filet was a unicorn! People talk about them but never see them. But everything about a unicorn is prefect! This filet was just that. A myth yet true! Yes, it was cooked perfectly and tasted better than your wildest imagination!
Desert put me in a utopian state! Yes, it’s true!
Worth every dollar spent!
