Place just opened up so we decided to try it out.
Looked at the menu and they have a few different options from other local Colombian restaurant.
We ended up getting bandeja Paisa and combo costillas.
We both left full and had leftovers to enjoy later. We also tried costillas empanadas which I’ve never had. I enjoyed it and would order some to bring to friends.
Hostess was very friendly and made sure we were all good and didn’t need anything.
I’d like to come back and try different dishes with some of my other friends.
Perfect location as it’s within walking distance from my house.

Incredible food and experience.
My wife and I eat here at-least twice a week and everything on their menu has been spectacular.
Santi, his mother Olgita and Nati are so hospitable and always makes us feel welcomed.

I’ve been going to Costilla’s Grill Hasbrouck Heights for a long time since they’ve opened, and unfortunately, the same issues happen over and over. The food is often burnt on the outside — the chicken breast, the costillas, pretty much anything grilled comes out with the exterior completely charred, even when I ask for it not to be burned. This has happened multiple times.

The rice is also mushy at times, which really brings down the quality of the meal. And the soup always comes without any added protein — no chicken, no beef, just broth with barely anything in it.

Another thing that doesn’t make sense is that they never have avocados. For a Latin restaurant, that’s surprising. Any place serving traditional Latin dishes should have avocado available, yet they never do.

While the place is affordable, the overall food quality isn’t the greatest. The flavor is okay, and the service is fine, but there’s a clear lack of consistency and attention to detail.

After many visits hoping things would improve, it’s disappointing that the same problems continue. The restaurant has potential, but right now the quality and transparency fall short.

We had the Sancocho special soup and it was perfect for a winter’s day. We also had the chorizo platter special and everything was perfectly cooked. It’s a cute little place that you can sit and relax for a small but hearty meal. Will definitely come back again!

From the moment I stepped into this charming Colombian restaurant, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of vibrant energy and heartfelt hospitality. The owners, warm and welcoming, treat every guest like family, ensuring that the dining experience is as delightful as the food itself. The menu is a celebration of authentic Colombian cuisine, bursting with bold flavors and fresh ingredients.

What truly sets this place apart, aside from the delicious and affordably priced food, is the lively ambiance. The music—a rhythmic blend of salsa, cumbia, and vallenato—adds an infectious energy to the space, making it impossible not to tap your feet or even get up and dance between courses. The servers are attentive and gracious, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine friendliness. Whether you’re craving an authentic taste of Colombia or simply looking for a lively, welcoming spot to enjoy a fantastic meal, this is the place to be.

The food and the service were very good. The prices were also very fair especially considering how expensive restaurant prices are nowadays. Tiffany the waiter, was very welcoming, and friendly. Will definitely consider this as my go to Colombian restaurant. 5 stars easily.

I found this place a a few weeks ago. I thought they were decent and affordable. Today, I was very disappointed. I ordered a bandeja paisa and two lunch specials. When I arrived to pick up my food, they charged me $22 for the $14 special of the day. Instead of making things right, the owner told me that he could fix the order but I’d have to wait a half hour. I, unfortunately, did not have time to spare so I paid him $22 for $14 specials. For the record: the fixing would’ve been just putting what was already made into smaller containers. But he insisted he’d have to make a whole new order/meal. He was rude, and I am very disappointed. I will not be coming back here.

P.S: I was there at least twice a week previously. Also, the bandeja paisa was burnt and the rice was hard.
