I have never tried a new restaurant and later the same day came back for more… but that’s exactly what happened today!!
Came in for lunch and came back for dinner. Both times I was pleased. The rellenos were crispy and delicious, and the steak burrito was fresh. They use a very quality meat!! You can taste the difference. Both times I left with a stomach that was full and truly satisfied! Think I’ll be coming back here very soon and very frequently!
The staff is amazing and friendly, and their seating all around is very comfortable. Great job team! You have something special here.

Awesome place. Great gem on the west side of town. Spacious seating area and friendly servers. The food is very tasty with lots of menu choices. Good choice of margs and excellent overall! Killer happy hour and probably the best dang carnitas around!

This is a wonderful neighborhood Mexican restaurant. It is family owned and the food is extremely authentic and yummy. I am trying to work my way through the menu. So far every menu item i have tried has been good. The chicken platter shown in the picture is a real treat.

The restaurant was clean, fast, and efficient, but very basic flavor profiles. We dined for lunch and tried the lunch special in which my husband chose two beef enchiladas, and I tried the number 3 combination with a chile relleno, chicken enchilada, and beef burrito. We both felt the beef was good quality but not very flavorful. On my plate, the most flavorful part was the green chili on the chile relleno. The chips and salsa were not served warm, and salsa was not super tomato based. The chips tasted slightly greasy and stale. Very efficient service, but food was not as we expected. Did see they have an early bird special for seniors, but pretty pricey if you went for dinner as a family, especially if margaritas were purchased.

We are so lucky to have Costere open their kitchen in our neighborhood! We are pretty much Mexican food snobs, Hahaha. We eat at many area Mexican restaurants and our first visit to Costere ranks it very close to the top. Have to try more of the menu to verify it’s legit but it looks promising. It’s not unusual for us to drive to Westminster, Glendale, or Lakewood for some very good Mexican food so that’s why this is so great.
The carne asada plate included a perfectly grilled steak, a roasted jalapeño with perfect heat, perfectly cooked pinto beans and rice (with veggies), and pico de gallo. The combination plate #6 (Chicharon Burrito, Tamale, and Chile Relleno) gets high marks, too. The menu is extensive and that’s why we have to return. Carrying Tecate (as well as a full bar) is worth one star just on its own!
Looks like we’re headed toward being regulars.

Our new favorite Mexican restaurant. Everything was delicious, from the chips & salsa to the sopapillas; every single bite I ate was so good. The service was great, the owners even came out to the table to talk to us & were such nice people. Great experience, we will be back often!
