Amazing spot, dare I say the best in New Providence! You can tell they put a lot of care into their food, it really has a home-cooked quality. Highly recommend the tamarindo agua fresca. Menu changes each day but really enjoyed the bean fried rice, tripe stew, and pork! Excited to come back again and again

Cute little authentic space in the middle of a residential area. I felt like I stepped out of the US and into Costa Rica. 🙂 The woman that served me did not know English however; we communicated by pointing and smiling and there was no issue and I got everything I wanted. The food is in heated bays and you can choose anything because you pay by weight. My lunch was $13. Great homestyle cooking.

I’ve driven by this place a few times and am so glad I stopped by- the food and service was amazing! The woman behind the counter (I’m not sure if she is the owner?) was so friendly and patient in explaining what foods they offered and she even let me try a few samples. I ended up getting their beef picadillo, a tamale, chips and ceviche and everything was outstanding! The tamale was excellent with a little Lizano on it! The woman mentioned I should try the ceviche with a little ketchup and mayo in it, and although I was very apprehensive, I gave it a try and it was unbelievably good- such a nice surprise!! Although I didn’t get it, they had ossobuco available and that looked and smelled amazing too; I’ll definitely come back to try more!!

Just found this place and am so grateful I did. I live right around the block. I’ve never had Costa Rican food before. This is amazing! Definitely going to come here regularly.

A very unassuming spot with delicious homey food. Service is also A+!
The food was really good and solid. I can taste traditional Costa Rican flavors and the meat is so tender and flavorful. I got a bowl with rice, black beans, and three meat dishes. They charge per pound so you can customize. Everything I had I enjoyed and made me crave more. This would be a good spot for lunch since you can grab and go and it’s quick. There isn’t much space for large groups but they have outdoor seating.

I’ll be back to try more items for sure. Mainly the empanadas and pork dishes.

Fresh food made every day. The best beet salad in NJ. Finally fresh sweet plantains. Try the chifrojo for lunch. OR the best breakfast burrito. The mora, or Black Berry agua fresca is perfect with any dish.

Coming from the city and living in the suburbs has its challenges. The lack of diverse food is definitely one. I’m so glad we found this Costa Rican spot. Everything is on point and we’ll definitely be back. Can’t believe this was tucked on a back road of New Providence.
