Fairly fancy but still welcoming and quite not as expensive as you’d think either. Service was fantastic, exceptionally keen on checking in a lot but in a lighthearted way.
Me and my fiancé both got a cocktail and you do get what you pay for. Drinks were super strong and well portioned but still great, though fair warning for anyone that is unsure of their alcohol limit.
In terms of the food our entrées were amazing. I got the lobster ravioli with vodka sauce, it was so tender and rich. Though regardless of what you get for dinner please make sure you have room or are willing to table share the Tiramisu. Far and away the best Tiramisu I have ever had. If you have to get anything from the menu it’s that.
Also we had the anti pasta plate. It was very good. Great selection of meats & cheeses.
Be sure to stop by the deli next door.
Once we were finally seated, we had to ask at least four times for water before receiving any. The food and drinks did come out fairly quickly, which we appreciated, but unfortunately the issues didn’t end there.
When it was time to pay, we asked to split the bill. We were told they don’t offer separate checks but that we could each pay individually using the handheld device, which was fine with us. After everyone paid their portion, there was still $130 remaining on a $280 bill. When we added up what we had all contributed, it totaled around $300. We asked for help because we were genuinely confused about what went wrong, but our server was dismissive and unhelpful. She told us to “null the tip” and try again. After doing that, we somehow ended up owing even more.
When we needed assistance, she was nowhere to be found. We were left standing there trying to figure it out on our own. In the end, we had to double pay and were told we would need to wait 48 hours for a refund. That added even more stress to what was already a disappointing experience. My friends also told me that they requested a birthday dessert from her to surprise me with but that never came.
Overall, what should have been a fun birthday celebration turned into a frustrating and unenjoyable night. I used to love coming here for dinner and drinks and would stop by almost every weekend. After this experience, I don’t think I’ll be returning.
The mushroom arancini delicious.
The Bolognese absolutely delicious.
Highly recommend a trip
We started with the eggplant rolatini, which was delicious, and shared the veal piccata. They even split it for us, which was such a thoughtful touch. Between the amazing view, the sound of the water fountain, and the relaxing atmosphere, it honestly felt like we’d left Providence and were dining somewhere in Europe. Highly recommend!
When we walked up, we were a little apprehensive. The party in front of us was greeted by short hostess in a grey sweater without the slightest hint of a smile or enthusiasm- quite the opposite as she impatiently asked they had a reservation (restaurant was sparse) and spun on her feet, grunting “follow me” as she darted away). Fortunately, a more pleasant server came over, greeted us, and sat us at a nice table. Hard not to notice the other hostess walking back/forth during the meal glaring at customer and staff with a scowl on her face (really seems like a bad fit for that role).
Anyway, our server was very nice and service in general was on the ball and pleasant.
I had the Cavatelli woth Sausage & Broccoli Rabe. It was awesome! Savory with just the right amount bitterness in the rabe and a hint of heat from chili flakes. Texturally, the pasta was perfect. Similarly, my wife’s Cannelloni was very nicely done. My daughter’s pork raguot with rigatoni was rich and delicious. We also tried the fried gnocchi was yummy in its own right.
It’s lively and on a wait by 6:30p. Probably a good idea to do a reservation. Definitely worth a try.
