I got the Baja bowl with the honey butter shrimp and it was nasty. I asked them which salsa they recommended, and they proceeded to dump four scoops of it on top. The bowl was swimming in salsa. They put so much cheese on it that it tasted like cheesy salsa. No flavor in the shrimp whatsoever. Pretty gross bowl, would not recommend.

Marshall at Costa Vida is great. He’s always friendly, moves fast, and makes the place feel welcoming. He actually pays attention to your order and treats you like a person instead of just another customer. The food is good on its own, but having someone like him there makes the whole experience better. Always a good visit when Marshall’s working.

I have enjoyed many meals from this place. The atmosphere is good, the employees are welcoming and kind, and I have never regretted my decision to get Costa Vida for dinner. That was until the other night. I work in a high-stress environment, and I often came to Costa Vida in the past after my shift to have a nice, calm meal in a pleasant environment, as I have many times in the past, but when I came in this week to get a salad, I was greeted by a very strange-looking “man”. He spoke to me in a way I have never been spoken to in my life. This very large, trump postured aspie was not only flirting with me but making very forward attempts to woo me with disturbingly creepy compliments. When I got up to the cash register to pay, I was charged a ridiculous nearly 14 dollars for my salad, and when I asked the “man” if that was really the price for just one salad, I was very rudely told “yes, sir”. I was stunned but didn’t want to make a scene, so I told them that I was eating in and I paid for my food. In response, they handed me a bag with my food and no tray. At this point, I was so sick of this whole interaction, I just took my food to go sit down. If that were the only thing that went wrong with my meal, I would have left it alone and probably been able to forget about one incredibly unpleasant interaction, but the whole time I was sitting down in the dining area, i could hear “him” loudly shouting in the back in the worst half Spanish I have ever heard. It was very unpleasant and made my dining experience much worse. As I was finishing my meal, I could hear them loudly scolding an employee in the back, and when who I assume was the employee came out of the employees’ only door to wipe down tables, they were looking very shaken. I’m not sure who thought it was a good idea to put that person in a position of power, because if they were willing to be that forward with a customer and they’re that mean to employees, it makes me wonder what goes on behind closed doors. If I were a higher up I would deeply consider how allowing this person to be in charge of presumably younger or high school-aged employees opens them up to liability. i think a thorough investigation needs to take place within this workplace concerning this person’s behavior towards the people they are in charge of. I was very excited to have Costa Vida before this incident because it had been about two years since I had last frequented and I remembered it warmly, but after my experience, i will likely never get to experience what Costa Vida once was ever again. if you want to be flirted at and hear disturbing things while you eat then be asked for a tip then this is a great place for you, but if not, then i would avoid at all costs

We stopped here for lunch before going to the zoo up the road. Parking was terrible. It took a while to find a spot.
The staff was pretty friendly at this location. It was also pretty clean overall in the restaurant.
Food was average. Not my favorite but not terrible. It works well for a family because they’re a little cheaper than some other places. Overall, if you’ve been places like this before you know what you’re in for. If not, let’s say it’s mediocre Mexican-American fare.

Ordered 2 salads online and got no meat on one of the orders! The order receipt shows what we got for evidence. Ironically, the extra meat salad I ordered only had normal amount of meat… what I joke! Should have ordered extra meat on both to ensure we got the meat. How do you call a sweet pork salad a sweet pork salad with no meat ?

I ordered a catering order for an event. Soon after we had more people RSVP, so I called and they easily cancelled the order for my so I could do a new one with more servings (I ordered a catering for 65 servings). The night of the event we had 30 more people show up than what we had planned! I called in the middle of our event and Costa on the spot made 30 more servings for us! No hassle, no questions, just a quick and kind “yep we can do that!”. It saved our event and nobody had to go home hungry. Wish I could give 6 stars!
I can’t quite remember the name of the woman who helped us, I think her name was Shanise, but give her a raise! Because of her I would without question use this specific Costa Vida to cater again and recommend it to friends.

Jordan gave me fantastic service, and he even introduced me to some new options I hadn’t previously considered, so I’ll be back soon to try them. He was friendly and informative and ensure me that I had a great experience in what could have simply been another quick takeout trip for my family.
