Costa Vida is much faster and their food is a kin to Cafe Rio, so I often choose Costa Vida. They are also a few cents cheaper.
But…this visit was rather bland.
Very stingy meat portions. The lettuce had some bitterness. The flour tortillas seemed too thick. And the medium sauce had too much chili skins left in it. The tomatoes also seemed pale and mealy.
But the workers were friendly. And I was hungry enough to eat it all. It just didn’t wow me.
I will visit again because I hate the lines at Rio, but I’ll be sure to pay attention to what the food is like. If it is like how it was this time, I may not be back.

Steak was perfectly cooked! Amazing clean restrooms. The manager Luke came out to see if everything tasted good, which it absolutely did!5 stars all around! Also love the key lime pie and the fresh strawberry lemonade!

Worst experience I’ve ever encountered at Costavida. Took almost an hour to round the line and order food, Da-Shawn has no idea how to perform his job. Crew consistent of all boys, not a clue what they were doing. Finally got my food and sat in aww of the poor people behind us stuck in the horribly slow line. Service would be much faster if sloths ran this joint. Food was thrown together, lettuce hanging out of the lid, filthy food prep area. Come on management and fix this crap. This once was the best restaurant in the Pocatello/Chubbuck area. Its quickly becoming the slowest and possibly the dirtiest. Also found what appears to be a swollen toothpick in my salad. NOT IMPRESSED!!!

I am truly disappointed in the shredded beef nachos that I received by Door Dash. See photo attached. The beef was not shredded it was chunky, in globs. There was hardly any pinto beans as it shows on the photos online. It was as a bad experience all the way around. Overall, I gave it 3 stars and that was generous. The chips were barely full and for the price through Door Dash was over $21. It tasted more like a $7 meal. Do better in the future Costa Vida…

my boyfriend and i went and got two sweet pork salads. i got a small and he got a large and there was basically no sweet pork in either of them. super disappointed because we were exited to have some good salads that we paid $30 for and neither of them were good. his lacked toppings and was basically just lettuce and mine was the same. i took the lettuce off to heat up my sweet pork because we had to refrigerate them before we could eat them and this is how much was in there. his was even less. super disappointing! probably won’t be back again anytime soon!

Costa Vida’s food is excellent. However, since the new manager came around I feel the employees seem much more stressed and have recently started weighing every little piece of meat that goes on your food. Ever since then, it seems like the value for money has gone significantly down and every time I go there it feels like I’m getting ripped off. Due to this, I have severely cut down on the amount of times I go there. The employees themselves have always been awesome and I have never had an issue, but the employee morale seems like it has gone down quite a bit recently under new management. Hopefully this is not a permanent change and they will find a way to bring value back considering the fact that their prices are already not the best.

Been going to this Costa Vida for a long time. Every time I go I usually bring family or friends. I have to say tonight was probably the worst experience I’ve had at the Pocatello location. I got a regular nacho, and we started off with a smaller than usual amount of burnt chips in my bowl. That was followed by a ridiculously small portion of sweet pork and beans. I was shocked at how stingy this store had gotten. The small servings continued on down the line. My wife got a salad and the same happened to her. They actually weighed the pathetic amount of food that went into our meals. The bill ended up being over 35 dollars for a very little amount of food. When I tried to nicely express my displeasure to the employees and manager, I was basically dismissed without a word. I told them this is a good way to lose customers, but they just poo poo’d my concerns. Pretty disappointed that this location has made such a turn for the worse. Think long and hard before wasting your hard earned money here!
Addition, canned responses are lame. How about just giving people what they pay for, and listen when the customers have a concern! Your employees literally said nothing.

Absolutely no sweet pork on anything we ever get there. Should at least get a little bit of meat if you’re paying that kind of money. I see that that is the majority of the complaints on the reviews, but it doesn’t look like they’re ever going to change.

I went to pick up a DoorDash order for a customer at least 30 minutes while other customers who came in after were taken care of before me. The customers food was sitting on a shelf and cold once I got it. I’ve done customer service for 3+ years and I understand it becomes stressful managing so many customers at a time but the employees should learn First Come First Serve and I felt they were very unfriendly.
