Ordered on door dash. This is not jollof and it’s not the jollof they’ve been selling. How dare you try to make jollof instead of just saying you were out! Disgusting and a waste of my money! Soggy and just gross, no flavor! Also the dumplings look nothing like the pics. Don’t waste your money! It’s like they warmed up some frozen dumplings (were still cold inside) and threw some mediocre sauce on them. Cosmos you’re wrong for this food! How dare you I feel thoroughly disrespected

We haven’t tried the restaurant side yet, so this review is more for the store side. They carry what I would say is a decent selection for our area. We’ve picked up a handful of spices and ingredients that are not as easily to procure at other local establishments.
The only comment or recommendation that I would say is that there are no pricing labels on the shelf items. However, overall prices weren’t too bad.

i dont even know how to describe my experience here. food was bland/mid and we were basically scammed???
1. person who took my order and person who made it did not communicate. someone took my order where i told them how spicy i wanted it. then the cook came out to ask for my order again.
2. order and drink took a long time. the drink came out when we were almost done eating
3. the food was bland. i told them i wanted it medium spiced but i guess the cook was not told that message.
4. we were charged 6.95 for the mango lassi when the menu outside and inside the restaurant listed it as 4.99. we were not informed about this price change until after we paid. when we asked about this, they said oops thats our old menu…
im sure their store offers a difference experience but we left and will not come back

Me and my wife came for restaurant week. We had never been here before. When you walk in you just get this warm and homey feel. The staff was hard at work but still had tome to greet us. The gentleman that waited on us asked if it was our first time and asked if we needed help understanding anything. When the food came out it was delicious. The chicken vindaloo had the perfect balance of heat and flavor and the watermelon lemonade is so refreshing I wish I could have it everyday. It’s a little hidden gem that I will be coming back to.

Atmosphere is a little rough, but the food and service make up for it. Dishes with Saffron are more expensive, but super yummy. Lots of layers of authentic flavors. Lots of unique wing flavors.

Good evening! So Today, I visited Cosmos Indian Cafe/Store. I purchased some items, and ordered the Curry Chicken Chettinad-Halal with Rice and Potatoes, Along with an order of Chapatti (3) I must say, the dinner was delicious! ❤️ Mrs Srijana was so warm, caring, and very helpful. Helping me to figure out what dish I wanted. Among other things. The staff is so wonderful with great Hospitality. You can find many things in there. From clothing to food. The BEST Indian food in Lawrence!
My husband and I are both vegan and both avid foodies. The vegan options at Cosmos are numerous, plus they will make you anything with tofu if you ask. We have done takeout several times, and just now ate in the cafe. The smell of the food cooking really adds to the foodie experience. The spices they use are very fresh and more complex and intriguing than the other Indian restaurants I have been to. Their Baingan Bartha is the best I have ever had. Absolutely stunning! I love the cafe ambiance, with the grocery store on the other side. So charming. And the staff are wonderful, friendly, and so helpful. I highly recommend Cosmos to anyone who wants a great meal, and the reasonable prices are an absolute bonus!

First time here to eat. The lentil soup is bomb and so is the Rogan Josh with Lamb.
Plus the grocery store has 4 lbs of yogurt for 9 bucks. More refrigerated desert choices than I’ve seen in a long time.
Do your self a favor and go.

Lawrence is so lucky to have this gem of a restaurant/grocery. I’m a fan of southern Indian and Sri Lankan food, and I was not disappointed with the variety, flavors, and friendly service. If the wait is longer than many restaurants, it’s because everything is cooked fresh and brought hot to the table. My two friends and I dined in and shared a number of plates, and we all enjoyed everything we had. Definitely try it! I’d love to see Cosmos stay in business for the long haul.

Absolutely delicious Indian food! The flavors were rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice. The buttered chicken were creamy, the garlic naan was fresh and fluffy, and the biryani was packed with flavor. Everything tasted freshly made.
