Reviews
It’s rare you go to a world buffet and find every dish tastes just as unique and delicious as the last.
Every section was curated perfectly with a variety of delicious food to satiate every craving. Picky eater or not ; everyone will find something to eat. Price is 10000% worth it
Thank you to the staff for being respectful, welcoming, and attending the tables efficiently. We asked one co the staff for help and were immediately attended to.
The atmosphere is relaxing and high end. Presentation of food was lovely and clean which made every dish look delectable.
Parking was close by and accessible.
10/10 overall. Will be coming back!
We visited the COSMO restaurant in Sheffield and overall had a good experience, though it was a bit mixed compared to their Doncaster branch. This is a buffet-style restaurant with a wide variety of cuisines, but I felt the overall spread in Sheffield wasn’t as extensive as Doncaster. That said, the quality of food in Sheffield was noticeably better. The Chinese section was easily the highlight and a solid 10/10 — everything was fresh, flavourful, and genuinely delicious. I was initially hesitant to try it because my experience with the Chinese food in Doncaster wasn’t great, but Sheffield completely changed my mind. On the downside, the dessert section was quite disappointing. Doncaster definitely does desserts much better, and I’d give that branch 5 stars just for desserts alone, whereas Sheffield fell short.
Overall, good food quality and excellent Chinese dishes, but a smaller spread and weak desserts bring it down to 4 stars.
We enjoyed a couple of plates each, I especially enjoyed the noodles of course, and the teriyaki mussels which were HUGE, and made myself a big fat crispy duck pancake too. I will say that the food is predominantly Chinese, but it’s so good! May have sampled the chocolate fountain too – looked better than it actually was (chocolate was somewhat watery) They have a bit of Italian food and even a mini carvery section! There are some tasting stations where chefs cook up something fresh to order as well.
Buffet prices vary from day to day and lunch to dinner, with each price set for 90 minutes unlimited buffet. We visited on a Wednesday evening which was really busy with large groups, but we plated up the food we wanted just fine. A Wednesday evening buffet would have costed us £21.99pp at the Sheffield restaurant plus drinks, which is decent value for money for the all you can eat.
Flavours bang on: The food isn’t just cheap; it genuinely tastes good. For the price, you won’t be disappointed.
Room for Improvement
Service needs work: We ran out of wet plates and had to wait nearly 10 minutes for fresh ones—clunky when you’re mid-course.
Chocolate fountain alert: Definitely needs supervision. It’s fun—but a bit messy if left unchecked around kids.
Parking Heads-up
You need to park in the Q‑Park Charles Street multi‑storey car park next door .
Rates: about £3 for daytime parking, depending on arrival time.
Final Take COSMO Sheffield is a worthwhile spot for casual, budget-friendly buffet dining. Good food, decent flavours—but just be ready for a bit of a plate shuffle and keep an eye on the chocolate fountain. Solid 3 stars.
The atmosphere can feel a bit crowded in the buffet area, and the lighting in the sitting area leans toward the dim side, but the space itself is visually charming and thoughtfully designed.
The place is well maintained and clean.
Overall I would probably visit this place again.
In general, the curry and the grills, especially chausiu, were fine compared to what I had in other places in the UK. But there is a problem for most of the grill was that they were a bit dry, not juicy.
The rice and noodles are OK, the pad thai was pretty good considering it is a buffet.
The shushi part and the dessert part were a bit concerning. May be, it was the dinner time, so the plates were busily washed, so they are hot. It’s quite a concern that I need to put cold food like shushi, salad, and dessert on a hot plate.
Other than that the Wasabi tasted like meshed mint green bean with wasabi, it was bitter instead of the pungent and sharp taste. Look at the video, it looks like a melting green tea ice cream.
