Saw a post that said they had 0 wait this morning- decided to try and get some takeout. When I tried to call it was busy- no problem- have dealt with that before. I went to order my takeout in person and the second I walked into the door was yelled at that they “obviously couldn’t do takeout”, then berated for wanting more than a breakfast sandwich for takeout. I understand being busy, I understand being stressed, but to yell at someone who was coming to pay you money at no fault of their own is so unprofessional. Nobody is forcing this business to offer takeout- if it’s too much for you- simply don’t do it. Do not try to take it out on a paying customer and yell at them thinking that was okay.

Every year my sister and I have an X-Files weekend where we celebrate our love of the series. This was the perfect place to do it this year! I’ve lived in Connecticut my whole life but never heard of this place until recently. It did not disappoint. We went early at just the right time so there wasn’t much of a wait. I had the Freaks and Geeks omelette and the other people in my party had omelettes as well and they were all really good. The atmosphere and decorations were super cool and it fulfilled part of our X-Files celebrations for this year. I would definitely come back here!

I thought I already reviewed this spot, but I guess I forgot. I’ve been there twice now. First time, I ordered the chocolate peanut butter cup pancakes, and had the option to sub out the meat that comes with it for an egg on the side. Second time, I got the Morning Star veggie burger omelet. Both meals were great, and the vibe inside is very charming.

The pancakes were great. A little dry but still great. The sausage patties and bacon were fantastic! Both cheer to perfection and you can tell they use quality product. I was surprised that for a diner specifically specializing in eggs, that the scrambled eggs with cheese were average at best. They were hard and just weren’t pleasant. The corned beef and hash is some of the best I’ve ever tasted! I highly suggest that people try them. The texture and taste were awesome!!

Service was great! The food was mediocre. The potatoes had a funny taste as if they were sitting in a refrigerator uncovered for an extended period of time before they were cooked. Omelets ok. The restaurant is dated and doesn’t look very clean inside it has a dingy look and feel. They have an eating counter that had two gentleman siting 4 other seats available, we asked if we could sit there at it in lieu of waiting for a table and were quickly told no without an explanation.

This place is a great place to go if you want a big breakfast for cheap. The prices are reasonable and they give you great portions. The place is small on the inside and the tables are small, we barely fit all our food on the table. The walking space is tight, so when people pass your table, they are kind of right on you. It does look like a lot clutter for that small space, but the food is great, and the prices are fair.
