The patio is quite lovely, and the service was commendable. While the food was flavorful, it did seem a bit pricey for the portions received. I would consider returning to enjoy the piano player and have a few beverages. It is a beautiful establishment.

Cortesse’s Bistro is a true-hidden gem in St. Augustine. The atmosphere is upscale yet welcoming, enhanced by live piano and vocals that create an elegant, relaxed dining experience without being loud or rushed. What starts as an intimate bar opens into multiple beautifully designed dining rooms—ranging from cozy and romantic to large group and banquet spaces—which was an impressive and unexpected surprise.

Service was outstanding throughout: attentive, friendly, and highly professional. Shannon the Bar Manager was always doing something and keeping an eye on all the guests. The bruschetta was exceptional—among the best I’ve had, including memorable meals in Italy. The salmon entrée was perfectly prepared, moist and flavorful, with a delicate caper sauce that clearly reflects a skilled chef. Dessert and coffee were excellent and enjoyed at a comfortable, unhurried pace.

With outstanding food, polished service, live music, and a refined yet inviting atmosphere, Cortesse’s Bistro truly stands out among St. Augustine’s best restaurants. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors seeking an exceptional dining experience.

Came here with a group of 25 people. Had a good private dining experience. For that size group, we were very squished together at two tables with elbows touching during eating. The atmosphere was fun though and we had private access to sit or stand outside with the group.
The service we had was great. The waiters and waitresses serving us were quick, efficient, and very kind.
The holiday drink menu was great! The dinner options were pretty good. I got the steak and really enjoyed it! The chocolate cake for dessert was okay, pretty dry.
There was a piano bar we went to afterwards which was lively and fun.
I would consider going again, just probably not with a group that large.

My husband and I are chefs and food lovers, and we can tell you that of all the restaurants we’ve visited, this one is among the best. All the food was delicious and fresh! The service was incredible. We sat outside, and the weather and the setting were divine. If I could, I would give it 10 stars! The price is reasonable for the quality of the food and the generous portions. For four people, including appetizers, main courses, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, the bill came to $250.00 plus tip (the only thing they should include as a courtesy is the bread, which I had to order separately!).

Outdoor seating is nice. Portions small quality below average. And the waitress with glasses loves to give slick remarks on any problems or concerns you address. Tables were dirty and we asked for it to be cleaned and she says “you know it’s outdoor seating.” Didn’t know that meant dirt stains and dirty glasses were allowed to stay on the table. They must not care about hygiene. Ordered a chicken parm and they put 10lbs of Parmesan cheese on a cold thin cutlet and she goes “so you had too much Parmesan cheese on your chicken parm.” Keep in mind we were the only ones at the restaurant besides another table of two. A table of 6 comes in 30 minutes after us and had a full meal and left before we even got our food. This is what we waited for… that’s a ceaser salad. Thankfully got my money back for one dish wish I could get my time back though which is more valuable to me…

Eden was our lovely server outside in the patio.
The ambiance was beautiful, calm and surprisingly quiet so we could enjoy conversation.
The Trout, Salmon and Chicken Parmesan were all delightful.
Limoncello cake and Pumpkin pie were both tasty treats.

A true local gem worth discovering! Just had another excellent meal at Cortesse’s Bistro, and it reminded me why this spot is such a treasure. The outdoor patio feels like a hidden garden oasis — lush greenery, white linen tablecloths, and classic wrought-iron chairs that make you want to linger a little longer. Inside, the piano bar exudes old-world charm with rich, inviting décor and some of the best cocktails in town.

The service is always impeccable — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food is consistently delicious, from fresh seafood and pasta to perfectly prepared daily specials. You can really taste the care and quality in every bite.

I had the pleasure of chatting with the owner today — such a nice guy, clearly passionate about his craft and this community. This is the kind of independent restaurant we need to support and share with friends. Whether you’re a local or visiting from out of town, don’t miss Cortesse’s Bistro. It’s the kind of place you’ll fall in love with and want to return to again and again.

Thank you, Valerie, for the wonderful service and cheer!

My husband and i had the pleasure of having of dining at Cortesse’s Bistro for lunch and the food was incredible! We sat outside and despite it being the middle of the afternoon it was enjoyable and very shaded. Our server was Cody and he was extremely polite, very easy to talk to and had an amazing wine recommendation! The owner came out and told us to come back and enjoy the piano bar tonight. We will be coming back here next time we are in town

We had a nice afternoon early dinner/late lunch at Cortessa’s Bistro and Flamingo Room Piano Bar. I highly recommend all locals and tourists come and experience a meal as well at Cortessa’s.

We had the Macedonian salads. And, Garlic knots. The Macedonian salads were full of fresh and flavorful veggies and kalamata olives. The feta cheese was a perfect amount and it was of great quality and flavor. The garlic knots were fresh, delicious and the homemade marinara was perfectly made with excellent flavor as well.

It’s a well hidden gem that many may not realize has reopened since it was closed for so long. The signature drinks, and menu options are great. And, the Piano Bar is open every evening. They headline a man named Matt who played the piano in the Broadway musical “Movin Out” which is a musical from songs of Billy Joel.

Our server Donna was very attentive, and friendly. She ensured that we had all that we needed and was very accommodating from start to finish. The time from seating, ordering and receiving drinks and food was perfect!!!

We look forward to returning.

I have been waiting a while to post this, as I wanted to be as objective as possible, but our experience at Cortesse’s Bistro and Flamingo Room was honestly beyond justification. We had a long-awaited reservation for a group of nine during the Nights of Lights, yet we were sat outside in the dark with no heaters. Despite asking multiple times for some basic hospitality, we were essentially ignored while the staff literally peered at us from around the corner without ever coming over to check on the table.

The service was a total collapse of professional standards. It took fifty minutes just for a Caesar salad to show up, and the rest of our entrees never even materialized. When we finally decided to cut our losses and ask for the check, the manager’s only excuse for the neglect was that she was “too busy” to oversee our service. For a place that positions itself as a fine dining destination, the lack of accountability was just staggering.

The situation turned even worse when the bill arrived and they tried to force a 20% service fee on the full amount of a meal we never actually received. The manager was disappointingly rude and remained so combative about the gratuity that we were actually forced to involve the police. Even the responding officers agreed that we should only be held responsible for what was actually served. It’s a shame that such a beautiful location is overshadowed by such unprofessional management; I’d strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere if you value genuine hospitality.
