We took the long way north from 64 & since 95 was crazy delayed in f-burg – we ventured on 301n, then 2N. Searched on our route for a nonchain bite to eat. To our delight – Corner Store was right on our route. Their 5-star reviews are right on! Wonderful service & glad we asked for their recommendation what to order. The buttermilk chix sandwich. A little hesitant when we unwrapped the sandwich – appeared the breading on chix was burnt. I was skeptical & a bit worried. Then I took a bite. Wow wow wowie oh wow! The flavors, juicy chicken, perfect spice on the crust, Chipotle mayo, pickles (I always say no pickles bur didn’t this time). It was the most amazing fried chicken sandwich ever!

My boyfriend and I just moved to VA from AZ and stopped here as it was recommended by one of our local friends! We ordered two of the chicken sandwiches, a cookie, and a jalapeño cheddar biscuit, and they were all delicious!!! Only thing I would say is i wish they heated up the biscuit for me, it would have been phenomenal heated! But it was still delicious

The Corner Store has grab n go options and drinks in their coolers, or made to order items off the menu, plus a beautiful dessert case. Everything is fresh and made in house. My favorite is the BLT on Potato Bread, with a side of Picnic Macroni Salad.

I love the Corner Store! Amazing food. Has a small dine-in section and lots of cute extra tchotchkies for sale for your kitchen as well. This store is owned by a farming family, so they utilize as much fresh ingredients from local farms as they can. Go on Sat. mornings for the most AMAZING donut you have ever had! Highly recommend this spot. It’s honestly worth a drive if you’re not from nearby.

First time in after many recommendations. So nice to see a place like this in town. Love the store aspect and unique selection. The food, THE FOOD, it’s incredible. I tried the fried chicken sandwich and it’s the BEST one I’ve ever had. That’s saying a lot, because I’ll go far and wide for one of those. So glad I don’t have to leave town for one now. The pickles on the sandwich are my highlight! The staff are so kind and personable. I cannot wait to return. I can’t add a photo because I scarfed it town.

From the outside looking in, it looks very “tea sandwiches and quiche”, but as a meat-and-potato-eating guy, this place has dynamite food. Everything is SO fresh, prepared by hand, and surprisingly inexpensive. I could easily eat lunch here every single day. Please support this business; the world needs more places like The Corner Store.
