Very impressed with all of the renovations in this place, as well as the food! The cheeseburger was juicy & flavorful, and I would highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich! We had our 2 kids with us at 5pm on a Monday, and it was just fine having them with us. They loved the fries & cheeseburger. We’ll be back!

Incredibly disappointed! I have frequented and enjoyed this spot all summer and the treatment I received last night from one of the managers has left me feeling so disrespected. I was treated very rudely while having my ID checked. The manager seized my ID and called the police after yelling at me and saying that I am not 21. I understand that protecting your liquor license is important as I have worked as a server before, but the way it was handled was very hostile. She called 911 and a few other numbers and even texted a photo of my ID to someone. She then took it inside for several minutes without explaining to me what she was doing. After verifying that it was real she returned it to me and made some excuse about the my license numbers not matching up. I asked her to further explain as I was concerned and she lashed out defensively and raised her voice. I was never given an apology for the misunderstanding or time it took to verify. I was perfectly fine with her checking it out and making sure but the way it was handled was very upsetting.

The pub is good but The Boathouse attached is the coolest thing around. It is a bar in an actual boat so has some appeal to it. Staff and food are very good! Taco salad is a must! Great place to stop on the bike and they support local bike runs/fundraisers. Outdoor music during summer from solo acts to bands!

Ordered the chicken taco salad per the reviews and bartenders recommendation. Lots of bagged shredded lettuce, a deep fried shell and some thick cut lunch meat, processed chicken. Don’t fool yourself, it’s not actual grilled chicken breast. They could and should do much better. BLTA was good, not great and fries were crisp but bland. Atmosphere out in the boathouse was fantastic and both bartenders were prompt and friendly.

Very neat space just on the outskirts of the town of Detroit Lakes. Unique bar area constructed from an actual boat and plenty of seating. Beer was cold and the live music excellent, will be returning!

Was here a few years ago and it was incredible from the atmosphere to the food and service.
Went there tonight and man has it changed for the worse, Service was horrible,Food was typical, average at best. Nothing home made from bags of mashed potatoes to pre-pattied frozen burgers. Our “Server” brought out the mashed potatoes still in the bag they microwaved them in.
They must have changed owners because now it is been stripped down to a cafeteria with no character whatsoever. Bare walls with TV’s, so empty it echos.
Food took forever and our server would rater lean on the bar then bring us napkins or plates with our appetizers.
Will never go back.

I just have to share about the meal I had at the Boathouse last night. It was the Cajun Salmon Salad (without the dried cranberries) and the piece of salmon was possibly the best salmon I have ever eaten! It was done perfectly, so moist, the Cajun seasoning was amazing, and the spring mix lettuce and the dressing complimented it perfectly! I love a good salad and I would totally recommend this one! Our server, Greta T was excellent too, so friendly, and the atmosphere was great! The other two in my party had the dry rub chicken wings and commented they were meaty and delicious!
