I have been here a couple of times. The food quantity is great but the taste according to Indian standards can improve a lot. We told them to make it 8/10 spicy but it was not spicy at all. The other time we told them to make it 10/10 and they just put red chili powder over it but that hurts the throat. Rather I would say increase the spice partially using chilli powder and partially using green chillies to make it spicier and also taste much better.

Our meal was so delicious that we joked about coming on a weekly basis from now on. Although it may not be weekly, we will add this place to our list of favorites. Hard to believe it took us so long to eat here since it is so close to home. It is a big place that often looks pretty empty, but large groups fit well, the food and service were excellent, and prices seemed very reasonable.

Loved this place! I live in New Delhi most of the year – currently home to US for the summer and craving some Indian food. Got a veggie curry, was delicious. Will def be back

The lady in the reception was very rude to us as we wanted to seat in a table other than their suggested one. The servers are not well behaved as well. We went there for the 50% off after 9pm offer but the offer doesn’t mention it’s applicable only on very limited items – which is deceptive. They also asked us to leave in a very unpleasant way when it was closing time. That really surprised us. They behave well with white customers only, not with Indians. Their food is not bad. I would have rated them a 4 star if they hadn’t behaved rude with us.

Great, authentic Indian cuisine! Our party of 4 all got different curries and Naan bread and sampled each. All were good – you can’t go wrong with chicken tikka masala. The interior was charming blend of Indian decor and Pittsburgh pride. However, the service wasn’t great despite it being not too busy while we were there. The prices can add up, but the food is worth it.

A friend recommended this place when we said we were looking for some good Indian food. Very happy that we listened. The place is somewhat hidden and you could easily drive bye, but if you stop in for a bite to eat, you won’t be sorry. Very pleased with the food, the service and the cleanliness of the restraunt. I had the buffet and ate until I couldn’t eat no more. Good job folks and I will be back soon!

Coriander has been my staple for the last four years. Bad day? Coriander was the answer always. Their food is so insanely delicious. I moved away from Pitt after school, and ever since I have thought about Coriander at least once a week. I tried finding another place where I’m from, and every single one is tasteless and sad. No one can beat Coriander. I swear to god, my friends and I talk about their food ALL. THE. TIME. I finally got to go back this weekend, after begging my friend for weeks to buy me my order and ship it overnight (so serious), and I went to the restaurant before I drove back home. Ordered three of my favorite, the mattar paneer, and some stuff for my family, and told the guy working at the front how much I loved and missed their food. Picked up my order and drove hours home, and I just opened it up to find that they very kindly included a free dessert. I ate my dinner and genuinely, I cried. I missed it so much. Coriander is the BEST. Food genuinely made with love, and you truly can’t get any better.

This place is consistently pretty good, and the service is always fairly efficient. Its definitely not the best indian food in Pittsburgh, but its definitely up there! The decor is a bit weird since its in the same place that Kazansky’s used to be–theres a football mural from that era still on the wall–but its not bad. Always pretty empty. My one large(ish) issue is that I asked for very spicy food and my dish came out gently spiced but definitely nowhere near something I’d call ‘spicy.’ Still though, consistently a good choice.

LOVE this place. I’ve been coming here for years, and I’ve never been disappointed. I love having so many vegetarian options (my favorite is the paneer butter masala — do yourself a favor and give it a go)!
