Went to location on Elmwood shortly after opening my around 11:30am. I was waiting on my food order and decided to fill up my drink. After paying $3.50 for an 8oz cup, I went to the Tractor brand drink dispensers. All of the drink dispensers were in various states of filth and did not look right.
The lemonade was half filled and the lid was dunked in the liquid. The peach drink had multiple film lines on the inside and it looked like congealed drink and/or mold. I pointed this out to the entire team and said that it didn’t look food safe or in presentable condition. They responded that someone was cleaning the lemonade bin, but I again pointed to the peach drink and said that it should be removed from service. It was as if I was inconveniencing them despite paying $3.50 for an 8oz cup and being presented with awful cleanliness and food safety red flags.
I sent feedback to CoreLife on their website AND Instagram but they apparently did not care to respond. Lately I’ve noticed Core Life standards for cleanliness slipping. I snapped a photo while I was there of the peach drink but when I look closer, even the exterior of the kitchen hood is covered in dirt.
Don’t even get me started on how dirty the floors were. While Core is a nice alternative providing healthier options, this locations ServSafe manager needs to really be looked at, the cleanliness standards are not where they should be. Again, this photo was from 30 minutes after they opened for the day, no lunch rush.
When you order a large bowl here, it’s consistently half full. At other locations, a large bowl often lasts me two meals, but after eating at the Brighton location, I leave feeling hungry. You simply don’t get what you pay for at this location, and the portions are noticeably smaller compared to others.
mobile pick up orders. I ordered my food
today at 11:12 and it said it would be
ready by 11:28. Got there at 11:30, went
in, nothing was ready, and there were over 10 people waiting for their food. Then I watched the manager yell at one of the younger workers (looked like she was in high school) to which she made her cry. Also said she was going to “shut down mobile orders if no one organized them”. 12 o’clock still no food. Finally got the food around 12:10 and the picture I attached was what they gave me, I then had to go back in because it was missing half the items. The second picture was how it looked after I went back in. I’m extremely disappointed with my experiences at this location. I understand they are busy but this was just crazy.
2023 May update: I received input from management about my Feb pricy comment. Yes, they want to supply us with high-quality food, but the problem is quantity. I opted for a large bowl over my spouse’s regular sized one only to realize they just put in more cheap base filler. Two dollars for a handful more cabbage or lettuce or even rice isn’t worth it. With drinks, it was close to a $50 meal for two.
2023 December update: Looks like prices have gone up again, and there are still line (food and check out) problems, although staff are trying. Got a whopping 6 pieces of tuna on my regular bowl. (That’s facetiousness b/c the cubes are tiny.)
