We didn’t realize it was such a popular place. It can feel really snug and busy but usually someone is closing a check if you want sit while eating and drinking. They have outside seating downstairs which gives more of a calmer vibe (at least it did at the time). You seat yourself and can share the larger table inside with strangers we ordered lamb skewers and crab fried rice (lol twice) both were good we just didn’t know which one we would want more of drinks we also tasty.

Awesome spot that’s easy to walk past without noticing, but once you do notice…meow. Bar style seating with high energy up top and a more laid back patio space. Up a flight of stairs to the first (and limited) seating area. Down another set for the patio. The service is fantastic, the drinks wonderful (best Caipirinha I’ve had in a long while), and the food wonderful. The crab fried rice was a touch short on crab this visit, but I didn’t really care given the popping flavors. Each dish has a bit of heat, especially the pork noodles. The kind of heat that keeps bringing you back. This spot is an absolute must stop, and while it’s name suggests otherwise, it’s sure to be copied by others looking to capture the same flavors and experience.

CopyCat is my favorite bar. Inside a building on H st. with the kitchen downstairs, bar upstairs and outside on a back patio, you can get whatever vibe you’re looking for. A playlist weaves in and out of conversation to provide a great background.

The food was amazing. The Salt and Pepper Shrimp is highly recommended if you ask me. The Beef Noodle was also good. The bartender was very nice and informative. The atmosphere is similar to a dive bar

Copycat Bar is one of the best bars I’ve been to in my entire life. Initially, I wasn’t going to go because I was alone, but damn! I am so happy I did! The drinks are PHENOMENAL and I am not a huge mix drink consumer. I sat at the bar and asked for something, “Sour and doesn’t include whiskey.” My bartender served up three different beverages and all were outstanding & well balanced. While enjoying my drinks, I watched the bartender make several others and his passion was very obvious. Too bad I am unable to recall his name, but he’s certainly a top notch bartender. In addition to drinks, I ordered crab fried rice to-go while I was still on drink #2, ordered drink #3 consumed it and the rice still wasn’t ready! Overall, it took approximately 1 hour to receive an order of rice. The wait time for food was a huge buzz killer. I was told the chef only had one wok. I highly recommend this bar, just order your food immediately after arriving.

The patio in the back was a pleasant surprise. My friend and I had a couple drinks salt & pepper shrimp and fried rice. I was disappointed with the shrimps b/c they made my mouth tingle/go numb. I researched it later and it could’ve been an allergic reaction to the MSG. The fried rice however, was the best I’ve had in YEARS! I would def visit this place again and inquire about their usage of MSG.

We came here very hungry after a long day exploring Washington. This was one of the few places open late, recommended by our host, reviews and pictures were promising, so we expected nice tasty dinner.

I absolutely love this place. The food is delicious, the cocktails perfectly curated and balanced, the service friendly and efficient. It’s a tiny location, so arrive early.

Upscale bar drinks but pretty reasonably priced. The bartenders seemed to love their job and were very friendly and attentive.

i don’t think I can stop talking about the chili this place uses that alters your taste buds in the most bizarre way possible. Regular tap water tastes somewhat uncomfortably salty and the small plates taste intensely umami. These are not necessarily bad things. The flavor profile was not anything I was expecting from a Chinese restaurant but it was so different compared to everywhere else I’ve been that this particular experience is worth repeating– with new menu items. But if you’re looking for such an olfactory adventure, try the “spicy” chicken here, and visit the restaurant if you’re ever in the area.
