I enjoyed my visit to the Copper Kitchen Café. I took my husband and daughter. It was great! I cannot tell you the last time I had a homemade grilled cheese sandwich … the chefs even asked if I wanted tomato on my sandwich; a definite yes!
I had never been to the Copper Kitchen Café before. I did find it a bit pricey. That said, my family and I enjoyed the atmosphere and our food.
We’ll be going back. I hope others visit and enjoy this hidden gem.

Ate there on Thursday (4/25/2019) and had a wonderful dish of Grilled Trout with butter sauce, potato wedges and a fresh crisp salad with Balsamic Poppy dressing. Chef was engaging on the menu and generous on the portion size. This was the best lunch for $10, I have ever had!

One of the most authentic and historic cafes in the united states. Pure southwestern gastronomy and exposed limestone/ architectural details. Please open this cafe and gem back up! Excellent artwork with wooden floors.

One of San Antonio’s best kept secret Lunch spots. Literally nestled in between Club Giraud & The Craft Center. Chefs are from next door (Club Giraud) and bring their culinary expertise to the Copper Kitchen Cafe.

No doubt, one of the best Lunch stops where you get the most “Bang for your Buck”, while at the same time does not sacrifice the Quality. Open open for a few hours a day, however limited hours of operation does not hinder the overall experience but actually makes it much more of an experience and special occasion.

Highly recommend it.

Singularly unsatisfying. The space is pressed into service as a restaurant… it has poor signage, is poorly organized, with not enough room for someone to pass behind others in the cafeteria-style line. Payments are made in a separate room, drinks are requested there, with no clear indication of how you will get them. The seating was inadequate, with no tables under which I could put my legs… the tables were too low or the chairs too high.

The food is substandard. I had a reuben, which was prepared on grocery store wheat bread with cold cuts. The herb potato leek soup was bland, with no sign of potato or herb, with an oily texture. While I did not have the enchiladas, they looked sad and dried out in their chafing dish.

Never knew this was here. Great for a simple out if the way lunch in an unusual environment. Maybe a bit on the pricey side.
My Grilled cheese (lots of cheese) and a cup of soup was $9 with an iced tea.
