**4.7/5 ✨ Copenhagen Corner Laguna: Comforting Meatloaf Dinner with Danish Charm**

Tucked in a cozy Laguna Beach courtyard just off the PCH, **Copenhagen Corner** (the little sibling of the longtime Copenhagen Pastry in Pasadena) is the casual Danish-American spot that feels like a warm hug on a cool coastal evening ️. The **convenient location** has easy parking in the shared lot, making it perfect for dinner before a play at the Laguna Playhouse or a sunset stroll downtown.

**Service was friendly**—the staff greet you with genuine smiles, explain the daily specials, and keep refills coming without hovering. The vibe is relaxed **casual dining**: simple wood tables, soft lighting, Danish flags, and a display case of beautiful pastries tempting you for dessert.

Ordered the **meatloaf dinner**, and it’s pure comfort done right: a thick slice of juicy, well-seasoned meatloaf topped with rich brown gravy, served with buttery mashed potatoes, tender green beans, and a side salad. It’s hearty, homey, and generously portioned—the kind of plate that satisfies without being heavy. Lingonberry sauce on the side adds that perfect Nordic sweet-tart pop.

Minor deductions keep it from perfection. I’d love **finer and fresher ingredients** overall—the veggies were good but could be a touch more vibrant, the meatloaf solid but not quite premium-house-ground level. **Hot breads** (like fresh rye or rolls) would elevate the meal, and a selection of **European jams** or housemade lingonberry would feel more authentically Danish.

Still, Copenhagen Corner earns a strong 4.7 for delivering reliable, comforting meatloaf and casual Danish charm in a super convenient Laguna spot. It’s not fancy fine dining—it’s the welcoming neighborhood place you’ll return to when you want something hearty and heartfelt. I’ll be back soon, probably for the meatballs next time.

The food was delicious and the service was fantastic! Dining here felt like having a home-cooked meal with a friend. The cuisine is unique too—where else can you find Danish-Persian food around here? Definitely give this place a try!

Lovely. We were in need of a better experience food wise for our 22nd anniversary and my better half knew about this Danish place close enough to Crown Valley Pkwy. OK, do not expect a light and airy dining room with white tablecloths and high-end flatware, the place is rather dark and obviously it’s all about the menu. We had enough appetite for an appetizer and main course, so chose the smoked salmon on rye bread and the Forloren Hare – Danish Meat Loaf wrapped in bacon, with lingonberry jam, roasted veggies, pickled beets, mashed potatoes, and brown gravy. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and delivered fully on flavor, texture, and also presentation. We did not venture into dessert as we had another place in mind but for genuine Danish fare, this is an awesome destination. Service is personable and friendly, to the point and very little fluff. Kind of my style as a born and raised Dutchman. Highly recommended!

What an awesome little gem we have tucked away here in South OC! This is a really cute, family owned restaurant, with great service and delicious food.

From the moment we walked in, the owner greeted us and was very warm and welcoming. She asked us about ourselves and told us about their restaurant.

We rarely get appetizers, drinks and dessert, to cut down on cost, but we definitely splurged here. They have a mix of European dishes, including some German plates and beers. The lamb chops and currywurst were incredible, and even all of the sides were bursting with flavor (personal favorite was the pickled beets).

This is a must-try restaurant for anyone in the area. Having traveled to Europe several times, the plates felt very authentic and homemade.

This place feels less like a restaurant and more like a visit to grandma’s house warm, cozy, and welcoming. It’s clearly a family-owned restaurant that focuses on fresh, homemade, made-to-order comfort food.

I had the chicken schnitzel, and it was simple, flavorful, and cooked with real care. Everything is prepared fresh, so it may take a little longer, but the quality absolutely shows. The service was friendly and genuine, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and personal, not rushed or transactional.

What stood out most was the heart behind it. You can tell they truly enjoy feeding people and watching guests enjoy the food they worked hard to create. It’s not about turning tables it’s about sharing good food made with love. A rare, refreshing experience that brings you back to what dining out used to feel like.

Highly recommend

The food was exceptional. We ordered the sliders where you get to choose three items. I got the salmon, eggs with shrimp and caviar, and the beef fillet. They were all great and a lot of food. Mona and the owner was very attentive and kind. This is truly a family restaurant you should support it

I was not familiar with their menu at all, but the lady was really good at describing the dishes and recommending. I had the meatloaf wrapped in bacon; the jam and the mashed potatoes were really good. The dish in overall was amazing. It’s a nice relaxing atmosphere. It exceeded my expectations by far.

Had dinner here. This is a true family business, mom and pop with their daughter running the show. Authentic Danish food, taste like the food I had in Copenhagen. They really value service and have pride in what they serve. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Was at Copenhagen Corner right before Christmas but didn’t have time to give a review until now. The owner Mona greeted us with a very warm smile and found us a table. The place was a little busy, buy she found time to feel us out and give some great recommendations. All the seafood dishes were exceptional and authentic and being Swedish I had never tried Danish Curry Herring Sliders, oh my goodness, that was sublime. Danish frekkadeller or whatever they call their meatballs were also much yummier than their Swedish counterpart. Great selection of beer, wine, sodas and fantastic coffee with homemade desserts and pastries. This family has been at it for 30 years and it shows. Warm hospitality and first class Scandinavian food. Their prices are surprisingly low too. Couldn’t recommend this establishment more highly.
