Asked about the “Oyster special” when we sat down, after a longer wait than should have been, and was told they did have an all you can eat for 30.00 for oysters, three ways: raw, Rockefeller, or char grilled. Asked her then if I could mix the orders and was told “of course”. I ordered a dozen raw and a dozen char-grilled. Wife ordered the shrimp and grits. I asked where the oysters were from to which she replied “I don’t know” and after asking around, no one knew. One person said “from the gulf”. Unknown what gulf this might be.
Several minutes later the server (who was very nice BTW) came to the table and asked if she could charge me an extra 5 dollars since I wanted the oyster order mixed. I agreed if that was what I had to do to try both, but felt betrayed by the “misleading” special offer.
After a very long wait my wife’s dinner arrived. A bowl of VERY plain grits with cheese sprinkled on top, and six grilled shrimp on a skewer over them. No seasoning or added flavors in the grits.
A long wait later my raw oysters arrived, Looked very dry, and when I touched one it was hard, very hard. I picked up a shell and tried to get a fork under it and discovered that they were frozen! I suppose that if you ordered them cooked you might never know. Besides taste, Oysters are delicate and must be treated so for some serious health reasons. We immediately decided to leave. I tried to pay for the grits my wife had started eating, and our drinks, but not the oysters. The server said I could talk to a lady sitting at a table up front who she said was the manager. She then told the manager I was leaving because my oysters were still frozen and dry, the manager replied “they didn’t take them out soon enough”. I don’t even know if freezing oysters is legal to serve to the public, never heard of such a thing. I suppose they shuck ahead and freeze them, or my fear is that have left overs and they go in the freezer! EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

This place is great. We ordered the oyster Rockefeller to start. They were delicious. The steak philly was also delicious, a little small but full of meat. We didn’t get to try the catfish but we heard they were good. We will definitely be back when we’re back in town.

Food is terrific. I came on a night the establishment offers not only all ypu can eat catfish, but also unlimited margaritas and draft beer. So I took advantage of the all you can eat catfish night, and I ordered my two sides as fries and okra. Had water and the cooters, special margaritas, and I have one lemon drop margarita. Cooter, special margarita is a little something special.It was amazing flavor and it got the job done. The service was decent, it was not just extreme attentive Customer service, however, I never went without anything I needed. It is similar to a dive spot.So the seating is rather limited in ordering the all you can eat special.I was initially given three fillets(Sidebar, you can get your catfish Either fillet, or you can have it delivered to you whole) So I opted for fillet, and it came in three fillets, with my two sides. I was stuffed at filet number one. In shorts, i’ve already sent a text to 2 people Telling them about this place and I will be back

I came here looking for fresh catfish and they didn’t disappoint at all! I had the lunch box special, the fried catfish/wings, with collard greens as a side….all fantastic. Probably the best catfish I’ve had. The greens and wings were very flavorful. My server was a delight, and I would DEFINITELY return and recommend this gem of a restaurant.

The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. I had the fried green tomatoes (DELICIOUS!!!) 1 PC of whole catfish, 1 filet..mac/cheese and fried okra. My bill was reasonable. I enjoyed the view and the atmosphere felt like home.

The food here was 10/10! I had the catfish bites and added fried okra and cheese grits. Everything was fresh and hot and very flavorful. I like the atmosphere as well. The staff was attentive and friendly. They made sure to check on us, even if they weren’t serving our table. I will definitely be back!

I don’t know which was better, the food or the service! My family and I were down to visit the great wolf lodge and wanted something different than what the resort had to offer. So glad this place was only 8 minutes away and they kindly seated us 1 hr before closing and the food was seasoned to perfection! Will definitely be back!

Went yesterday order the all you can eat catfish it was not flavor at all, collards greens, no taste, and the cole slaw was just nasty. The fried pickles were hot fresh and good. My daughter order the Philly steak she said it wss good but too small. We try to order the appetizer I think the alligator bites or the catfish bites which one it was she came back in told us it was frozen. So yall had them but they were frozen this is a restaurant, it is Friday why wasn’t it prepared? It was on the menu but it was frozen now that was a turn off. The all you can drink margaritas was okay. But the catfish is what I really came for and was very disappointed.
