Not familiar with cooking in Alabama. I ordered, wings and ribs. The wings were best wings I have every had and the ribs were excellent. I also tried the peanut butter pie which was not what I expected but the pie was good a well. The bartenders service was excellent. If I am ever in the neck of the woods I will surely make another visit.

Friends, if you’re anywhere near here and need a meal, this has to be the place you go! The ribs were the best I’ve ever had, and that was with only the dry rub on’em – with the sauces (we tried both) they were perfection!
We will literally drive an extra hour there and back, to eat there again!
Geeze, I forgot to mention the sides – we had greens and fried okra that were top notch! Oh, and hush puppies that were almost like dessert! Dang, I’m hungry and low key sad already that I can’t eat there again today (but we’re driving back home to Florida).

It can be a bit of a wait, especially on the weekends, but it’s totally worth it. Not a huge place, but the cozy, homey vibes make up for it. The drinks are great, with beers priced at $7. Never had or heard of a corn nugget, but they were good too. I had the half slab of ribs, and wow—six ribs! I could only make it through two, but they were absolutely delicious. If you’re craving some BBQ and you’re in the area, this place is a must-try. Definitely recommend!

Hi so let me start by saying I was so so excited to try this place for my birthday well it wasn’t a great experience at all. I read reviews for an hour atleast and seen alot of great reviews plus by word of mouth this is the best ribs around. Unfortunately last night they were not. They were very small not much meat on them except one big one as seen in pics. They were so tuff like they had been reheated in the microwave. Also the guy who helped me at front asked if id like bread or huspuppies which I said hushpuppies because again reviews said they were the best. I didn’t receive any hushpuppies which is probably my fault for not noticing right away I was just so excited to get home and try all the food. So thats was Unfortunate. The corn nuggets were amazing and the wings were very good. I just was not expecting the ribs to be so awful and tiny.

This place has great tasting food and a variety to choose from. It’s a BBQ place, and I was hungry for Brunswick stew. This was the only place I could find it, and it was delicious! This place stays crowded, but when we got there, luckily, we got the last seat available. It was upstairs, but we took it. The steps are steep and narrow, but we made it. I can’t wait to go back! Good food, friendly waiter.

It’s not everyday that I get to hit up a restaurant in Alabama, even rarer that I come to a small spot like Cooter Brown’s in Jacksonville. I was told that their ribs were “crazytown tender” and… this person was right.
I had their specialty ribs, the Bomar Style, half dry and half wet. I definitely prefer the wet MORE, but there’s so much flavor in both types. The ribs are fall off-the-bone delicious and absolutely decadent, I had their hushpuppies as an appetizer; WOW. Simply, wow. They know what they’re doing here.
My companion and myself enjoyed a drink at the bar while waiting on our food pickup and while they didn’t have what we were looking for, they were very accommodating in what substitutions we could use to recreate the drink we wanted (Irish Car Bomb).
Gives me another reason to come to Jacksonville, apart from it’s amazing people. Don’t sleep on this place, y’all!

If you love southern style BBQ, you will absolutely love this place. It’s a cozy little restaurant/ bar in the great state of Alabama. A very inviting atmosphere with friendly people. The staff were super friendly & polite. Your seating options are booth, table or picnic table, I chose the picnic table. The menu is simple & straight forward, amazing bbq chicken, wings or ribs . It was absolutely delicious, the sauce was amazing & the ribs were fall off the bone. I really enjoyed myself here & the was truly delicious. I know will enjoy your meal here.
