So, I have been sick a lot lately and just didn’t have it in me to do all the Thanksgiving cooking and cleaning for just three people so I ordered Thanksgiving meals from The Coopersburg Diner
They gave me a pickup time of 1:45. I showed up at 1:30 and it was packed with EVERYONE who had earlier pick up times and had been waiting since their designated time
They were making the plates on the fly in the order of who came in when, so after an hour of waiting , I got my food (in a ripped bag which I could not carry with the other bag, and was refused a new bag) and started home.
The food was absolutely disgusting.
Not one home made item.
Boiled turkey breast, a ton of canned corn. A spoonful of canned cranberry sauce in a condiment cup, weird yellow gravy (I’ve literally never seen yellow gravy) and instant mashed potatoes. The stuffing was “gummy” and pale so I’m not sure it was stuffing or what
Not a bit of seasoning on anything.
They forgot the soup and salad as well which we paid for.
It all went in the trash which absolutely kills me but it was awful.
(Yes I thought about donating it but it know from cooking at soup kitchens they don’t take outside prepared food from individuals)
$26.75 a plate
They tried to tell me I hadn’t paid when I went to pick up but luckily I saved my receipt.
They were very unfriendly to boot. Not so much as an explanation or apology for why the meals weren’t done for the pickup times
They could have called people and explained the delays instead of having 40-50 people crammed into the waiting area for hours.
I tried to call them but they were closed. Will be requesting a refund
Never again
I used to come here all the time years ago, and the food was consistently good. Sadly, my visit last Saturday was a letdown.
I kicked things off with the chicken quesadillas, which turned out to be pretty solid. The tortilla had a nice crisp to it, and the ingredients tasted fresh.
Next, I tried the homemade French onion soup. It arrived lukewarm, which dulled the flavor. This dish really needs to be served hot for the ingredients to meld properly.
Lastly, I had the Coop Club with turkey, roast beef, ham, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. It ended up being dry and lacking flavor, not what I expected from a signature sandwich.
Service was fast and efficient.
Pickup is available, but there is no delivery.
