Classic BBQ joint with picnic table seats serving brisket, ribs & more pulled straight from the pit.

The beans are absolutely insane. I don’t know what they put in them but they are delicious. Spare ribs were good. More overcooked still had a bite.
The beef rib. On the other hand I would prefer if it was taking a little longer. Had to use a knife to cut it up.
Super friendly staff. Great environment definitely will return minus the beef rib.

No longer my favorite BBQ due to lack of value. Haven’t been here in five years despite living a mile away. Rudy’s is better. Got charged $36/pound for “brisket.” Literally half of it was 95% fat (see picture). I didn’t specify moist or lean but this is bad even if I said moist. Sides were too expensive to get. Beans are free and good.

Hands down the best BBQ I Jane ever eaten! I tried a little bit of several types of meats and they were all so smoky good! The twice baked mashed potatoes was delicious and I wanted to take the entire tray of Blackberry Cobbler home with me, it was so dang good. Great atmosphere -sitting on big benches at tables made me feel like I was at a great picnic without the flies! Highly recommend!

It’s worth the cost. I love a roasted smoky corn ON the cob. And the meat was melt in your mouth good. We got a little of everything and loved it all. It’s an unfussy casual place.

I ordered moist brisket and pork ribs. Both were dry and over salted, it’s way too much salt. The staff asked me how it was and I was honest so they brought me out a new cut of brisket. This one was moist, but too salty to eat as well. The place is so cool looking, I think the seasoning needs to be adjusted though.

This is my first visit to Cooper’s in about 4 years. The quality of the food is very good. Their offerings for BBQ is extensive: pork chops, chicken quarters, turkey, sausage links, and lots of beef options. There is no guarantee you will get a piece of beef that is not tough of full of gristle, which I discovered in my last visit 4 years ago. I chose the Sirloin this visit which while pricy, was very good. If you do not like rare meat, ask if what you select can be cooked longer. The turkey breast I had this visit was tender and delicious. The sausage was another matter. The meat was fine but the casing was thick and tough. It was like trying to chew through a rubber hose. I suggest in this case, removing the meat from the casing. Regarding sides: this visit had green beans (very salty!) mashed and twice baked potatoes, along with mac and cheeese. Cobbler is also available for dessert.
The one and biggest annoyance is trying to access their parking lot. If you are traveling east on Loop 337, look for their sign. The Cooper’s building is set back from the highway. It is right next to Amish Oak of Texas. Do NOT go into Amish Oak: there is no access to the Cooper’s parking lot. The parking lot for Coopers is right beneath their sign. I missed it (the entrance) twice. Coming west on Loop 337, you need to go to the next light past the facility and make a ‘U’ turn, and look for the entrance under the Cooper’s sign. Note to owner: It might be very wise to install a sign, an arrow, something to make your parking lot entrance more obvious. (When an employee states they work there and miss the entrance, something’s wrong.)
The food is good, the atmosphere is typical large seating BBQ, pinto beans are available in a huge pot with other condiments. If you need something, ask. The staff is very helpful.

Generally coopers bbq is really good and I expect that for the prices here. Sometimes it’s better than others and today 4/21/25 it was lacking… for example, some of the meats had been sitting too long and the 1/2lb of brisket was very fatty (see pic). Chicken is very good here as well as the pork ribs (our favs). We liked the mac and cheese but NOT the potato salad. Bottom line, there’s other good local bbq options for less.

We went for lunch and got ribs, sausage, coleslaw, corn, twice baked potato, Mac & cheese, and beans. The ribs were dry and tasted like day old refrigerated leftovers, the sausage tasted decent, but was loaded with fat and bone pieces, the coleslaw was the worst I have ever had. I don’t know what they put in it, but it tasted so weird. The corn was also seasoned strangely and just tasted bad. The twice baked potato was ok, but very boring, the Mac and cheese tasted like starch, not cheese, and the pinto beans were ok, but even they had a very strange aftertaste. We spent over $80.00 and couldn’t even eat half of our food. SO disappointing. We’ll definitely go to Black’s BBQ, or even Rudy’s BBQ, next time. Shoot, even Bill Miller is better.

Came here for the first time with a friend so tried a bit of everything.
Porkchops are definitely worth the hype. They were super good. The sausage was typical of most BBQ places.
The brisket was a bit of a let down. The flavor was good but not as tender as I would expect for “fatty” brisket.
As others have said the BBQ sauce is very heavy on the vinegar (my preference is more tomato).
The cornbread was great and so were the free beans.
The stand out to me was the Cody’s Apples. I could taste the bourbon in them! Definitely had to go back for seconds.
The banana pudding was more custard then pudding but still very good!
All in all, a bit expensive for most outings but definitely the place to go for Porkchops and Dessert.

We visited here two weeks ago for takeout for dinner on the recommendation of friends. We ordered Pork Ribs, Sausage and Brisket meat by the pound, double sides of Potato Salad and Coleslaw, Green Beans, Roasted Corn, and Macaroni and Cheese. We also ordered several of the Fruit Cobblers and Iced tea. All of the food was excellent!!! The portions were huge! Great customer service! We will definitely return here again and would highly recommend that you give them a visit.
