It is restaurant week in KC, an opportunity for establishments to put their best foot forward. Cooper’s Hawk missed. First, our server, George, was excellent: attentive, accurate, and friendly. But our first course showed up well before the drinks (one star gone, in my system). The restaurant did not anticipate the crowds for the week (but shouldn’t the volume of reservations informed on that?). The food was ‘meh’. The crab, shrimp, and lobster bisque had two very small shrimp and what may have been tiny amounts of crab; the flavor was good though. Both our entrees were on the salty side. My gnocchi carbonara was saucy; the classic dish coats the pasta with rich egg/cheese flavor but has no sauce. If you want chicken Madeira, I recommend you go to the Cheesecake Factory, where it was invented. Yes, the dark chocolate truffle to end the meal was fantastic. Still, another place to which we don’t need to return. Too bad.

My husband made reservations here for Valentine’s Day. This place is so nice and has so many wine and food options. The food was amazing, the staff was super nice, and it was very busy! My 1 year old son came with us too and they were very attentive and the food was delicious! We ordered the calamari, southwest egg roll wrap, ahi tuna steak bites, pork chop pretzel crust and shrimp and scallop risotto. Can’t wait to come back again and try other foods on the menu.

Choice today was for $40 Dinner option:
Bisque
Pork chops
chocolate cake
Added French 75 + St.Germaine
The bisque was delicious, with big chunks of meat, corn, and carrots, but it could’ve been warmer . The cold wind outside probably didn’t help this feeling, but being lukewarm didn’t take away from the taste.
The chops were – tender, easy to cut, and full of flavor. The broccolini was also a highlight, seasoned like asparagus and perfectly cooked. And I finally found the bacon! It was buried under the broccolini, but worth the search.
The mashed potatoes were a letdown, lacking seasoning and flavor . A bit of butter or some extra love would’ve elevated it. The fried onions on top were the real MVPs, adding a nice crunch and flavor.
One suggestion for the restaurant: add some hooks for purses at the bar! Overall, a solid meal with some standout moments. Would I go back? Yup!

Had the GF Drunken shrimp which was delicious. The shrimp were large and plump and the ingredients were fresh. The GF complimentary bread was bland. Although other people have said it is the best GF bread they’ve had. To each their own. The pretzel roll my friend had smelled divine. I had the GF chicken carbonara gnocci which was delicious. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable and diligent with making sure my food was GF. I appreciate the restaurants willingness to have a decent GF menu.

Perfect date night restaurant – The food is delicious, most of the time the service is exceptional, and the atmosphere is inviting. Pictured is the Pretzel-Crusted Pork Chop, Dana’s Parmesan-Crusted Chicken, and the Chicken Madeira (subbed roasted broccolini) all of which were fabulous. If you’re someone that googles pictures of food before ordering, you’re welcome! Happy to have this restaurant in the Northland.

We had a very nice lunch and did not realize that this excellent restaurant had a location in the Northland. It was an easy drive from the airport. It was not overly busy and we had attentive service. The shaved brisket flatbread was a Chef suggested appetizer and was exceptionally good. We almost ordered a 2nd, but decided to try the calamari.

Came at 2pm with my family. Love the atmosphere, service, and pricing. Our server Michele was excellent. The music selection is great. A good vibe. The Over the Border Egg rolls taste good. I use two of the sauces. I opted out of the Cilantro ranch. Dana parmesan crusted chicken was okay. Not that good. The Coopers Hawk Magarita was strong and tasty.
