So the coffee here is very good, which I appreciate! As for the food, my breakfast sandwich was microwaved to a temperature that would melt your face, not to mention burn the crap out of the roof of your mouth. The bill for 2 people with simple coffee drinks (a latte and a cold brew) and a bagel + a breakfast sandwich was $28 with tip. WHOA. No wonder I’ve never heard of this place before! Not sure I’ll stop in again, actually.

Yum!
We stopped in for breakfast on our way to Elephant Rocks Park. Good food, nice unassuming atmosphere, and friendly staff.
I had the egg sandwich on pretzel roll. Very good and the pretzel roll is probably the softest that I’ve had.
My wife’s omelette was equally delicious.
The iced tea (sweet & unsweet) was still warm from being freshly brewed.

Cozy coffee shop in the heart of small town Hillsboro. Family owned and operated; service with a smile isn’t cliche here. It’s obvious, they love what they’re doing and it shows. The smell of Kaldi Coffee and fresh baked goods will greet your nose at the door. With menu choices that give you that ‘just the way you like it’ feel, you’ll enjoy this quaint little spot only a bit off the beaten path. It’s definitely worth the trip.

They have great food with great prices. I’ve never been disappointed with anything that I’ve ordered. It’s a cozy little place. I love that they play Christian music and it’s a very welcoming environment. All of the staff are very warm and friendly. Highly recommend and would love for them to add a restaurant in Potosi.

A daimond in the rough. Good food is an afterthought in Hillsboro. With choices like “or fastfood,” good eats are gatekept from coming into town. With the exception of food trucks on rotation, Cool Beans is the gold standard here. A competitive price, generous atmosphere, and top flavor. A restaurant shouldn’t aim to be the best in the area. It should aim to be the best at what they do. I eat disappointing french dips all the time. But a golden banner sits on top of this one. I go to places in the StL metro and out of state wishing more sandwiches were like this one. I can only hope Cool Beans is around a long time. And I hope they do more weekends.

Heard about this place from a friend. Thought it be a bit cheaper, but nothing is now days. With that said the food and coffee were very good. We got the chicken bacon ranch and a BLT. Definitely will be back, and do recommend Cool Beans.

I love this little place. I always get the Hawaiian sandwich but the Jalapeno Popper sandwich is pretty awesome too. They have a variety of baked goods and soups to go with your made fresh sandwich. My favorite side…the sweet potato chips! Stop in and give it a try.
