Change in ownership of Cooks pizza in Wakarusa – Facebook

The new owners are franchise owners of Bourbon Street Pizza in Nappanee. I wish the Harris family the best of luck and happy Cook’s still open in Wakarusa.

Below average I’d heard it was under new management so we checked it out. However, paper plates and plastic utensils are never impressive. Combine that with a small cramped atmosphere and we were even less impressed. The pizza was a bit greasy and certainly nothing to brag about. It seemed most came in for the ice cream, so maybe that was a better choice? Not recommended.

Well.thougjt we would give the new owners a shot. 2 other tables in there w us didnt get drinks for about 20 mins. Then got our pizza which was burnt on the bottom and no flavor and then our appetizer came way after. Server never even checked on us even after being the only people in there. Definitely miss the old owners that for sure the pizza was absolutely delicious but not anymore. Definitely dnt recommend eating there!!!!

We had never visited Cook’s Pizza, but since we were in Wakarusa and had heard that it was the place to eat in town, we decided to check it out, so perhaps our expectations were high. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was served fairly quickly and was definitely fresh out of the oven (it was very hot). The pizza was ok but it wasn’t something that I would travel very far to get. If you are obsessed with cheese, than perhaps it would be more to your liking as it was piled on, but the sauce was good. Like many people have noticed, the seating is very limited and it is a tight squeeze to fit all of the tables into the small space. I almost gave a 3 star rating, but decided on 2 because they only accept cash or check, and as someone who is accustomed to paying mostly by card, I had to run over to the local bar to use the ATM and of course the fees that go with that transaction. If you live in Wakarusa, Cook’s Pizza is an ok place to grab a quick bite, but if you are traveling more than 7 miles I would recommend other pizza establishments.

It’s a town favorite for a reason. Pizza here is incredible.

Obviously, this place serves more than just pizza. I’ve attached a menu and prices, seeing as how they’re aren’t any available online that I know of.

Best way I can describe this place is that it is a homey grub diner. Everyone is friendly here, wnd the table service is also very friendly and welcoming.

Cooks does deliver as well. After a certain time they turn off the friers and will only deliver pizzas though. Just keep that in mind.

This place is still 5/5

Should have listened to the other reviews. This is nothing more than a frozen pizza. Please change the name because this isn’t the cooks pizza I knew. Place you to be bustling on a Friday night. Now as I sit here we are the only ones in here. Now I know why no one is here

Overall: The pizza was OK.
Cons: The crust was not firm but tasted burnt. There were huge bubbles all over the pizza. There was definitely not enough sauce anywhere on the pizza.
Pros: The sausage crumbled up all over was perfect. The diced vegetables were also perfect. It’s nice to get everything you ordered all in one bite. However, more sauce and more cheese and work on the crust would make it the perfect pie.

Used to be amazing with the past 2 owners. The new owners have really missed the bar on the pizza. The crust is terrible and then sauce needs more flavor. The onion rings have way too much breading. Really disappointing.

This past Saturday, during the maple syrup festival, we decided to have dinner at Cook’s pizza.
Who has ever purchased chicken strips and had to pay extra for the dipping sauce?
I was surprised when I asked for ranch and the waitress replied it would be $1.25.
The amount was about a tablespoon worth in a pre packaged plastic container.
When I asked for more for my grandson, the girl took the container, consulted another girl and replied it would be another $1.25.
I passed on handing any more money over to this establishment.
The burger was good, cold hard fries, mozzarella sticks were decent ( served with marinara dipping).
Why does this place charge for my grandkids favorite condiment?
I won’t pay extra for ranch and we won’t be going back.

Cooks Pizza used to be the best pizza in town, but lately they have changed the ingredients they use on their pizzas (maybe because of the new ownership) and it just doesn’t taste the same. RIP
