Cooke’s is a fantastic spot for casual Cape Cod eats. We had a lobster roll and a lobster taco as take-away orders. Both were tasty, but the lobster taco was absolutely better value. It had plenty of lobster meat, and the accompanying fries were actually the best part of our order. They were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the portion was overly generous. We kept eating them long after they got cold. They were that good. This is not a fancy place, but it’s an especially good spot for take-away.

Good food !
Lobster rolls are good even though quite expensive but still cheaper than in other places.
You can get the Combo meal served with fries (good) and coleslaw (not fantastic) for an extra 3$.
Would not recommend the shrimps roll as les tasty than other dishes.
Restaurant is easily accessible there is a big car park and you can also take the option “to go” if you prefer enjoying your dishes somewhere else.

To start, if you go, get the scallops! Those were very good! Me and my husband came for lunch on a Friday. There was not a long wait. The girl at the counter taking the orders was pretty rude and unfriendly, however, I think it was just her because other employees seemed okay.
The fries were okay, but they served our fries with our swordfish on top and it made most of them soggy. The coleslaw was regular and very good to me (although a small serving size), and the corn on the cob was excellent!! Not soggy and very well seasoned/cooked.
Overall the food was good … However, they had a current celebratory discount going on and even with 20% off of the price, it was still very high for what you get. With the 20% it is not too far off, but the actual prices here are high even compared to other places in the area.

It’s a great place to go for lunch. The staff are friendly. The service was quick. The food came out hot and delicious. If you get pretty busy but they got plenty of seating inside and out.

Fried whole belly clams is a once a year treat and most often I try to go to Ipswich for them; however I was in Cape Cod this week and thought I’d try them here. First, the owner was so nice and welcoming! Then he offered me choices, and I decided on the platter, as I would actually get a few more items for only $2 more and the same amount of clams if I bought a 1/2 pint on its own. No extra expense for the tartar sauce and I could choose from different sides, and I chose the corn, which was sweet and no need for butter. The star of the platter was of course the fried clams which were plentiful and tasty and not overly battered/fried. The coleslaw didn’t have enough mayo but that was fine with me. The platter was just under $34 including tax. At another place, a 1/2 pint of clams was $29.99. Even though it was a takeout order, I observed that the dining area was spacious and clean. And, oh, all their staff and servers were welcoming and friendly to me as well.

OMG this place has GREAT food!!
The owner served us personally. He was super nice and inviting. This was the best hot lobster roll I have ever had. I would drive the 14 hours back there just for it. My wife had the fried clams and clam chowder. Both were excellent. This was a real treat for our first trip.

Don’t know about them being voted the best on Cape cod as the sign says but they were OK, nothing special. Pricey but I’m assuming this is typical for this area. I had better clams at the Lobster stop on Quincy yesterday. Too much breading here for my liking.

Staff was super friendly and welcoming.

When I’m ready to slide into eternity,,,my last supper, a gargantuan plate of Cookes jimmy’s sweetest smoothest tender savory crunchy *extra crispy* golden whole belly fried clams. Been trying fried clams since 1955 all over the cape, world and these set the gold standard. This is the only place that I use straws as chopsticks, to not destroy the delicate taste, smell and texture of Cookes clams fried secret coating with my fingers. The only way to really enjoy them is chewing them at least 30 times to pull the flavor of these dense small morsels. Whata good feeling that I get of being watched by him over my shoulder. Its foreverlasting taste lingers for days, too. Be sure to Ask for *extra crispy*. And kudos to 20 years in business claiming the gold standard in fried clams.

Girl at the front taking orders was so rude. I thought it was just me but my partner who works in food service who rarely agrees validated how I felt. We clearly saw her talking about our interaction with another employee. If you’re going to do that, at least be smart and do it in the kitchen so the customers can’t see. Another thing that should probably be kept behind closed doors is the fact none of the food trays are propertly washed, and instead the same rag that is used to wipe down tables is used to wipe food trays. The food was okay, but not good enough to excuse the attitude and cleanliness of this location.

Mostly self service. A couple excellent craft beers on draft. Not an atmosphere place nor is it cheap.
