Cook out use to be so much better. I don’t know what happened. But the one in Dickson just isn’t as good anymore.

Portion sizes are small.
And quality of food, portion sizing of the food is not worth the prices.

They’ve gotten our order wrong on numerous occasions also and we got chocolate shakes that were pitiful.

Not really any chocolate in them.

Also as Christians one of the things we loved most was they seemed patriotic and also had scripture verse on there cups and other things.
They’ve done away with that from what iv seen so far at the Dickson location.

And they don’t do military discount anymore.
I don’t think we will be going back.

Great food, nice Christian music and plenty of room to sit. We had a huge party and the poor kid at the register did a superb job. Not one mistake on our order and he kept it professional. He was also super patient with the kids as they ordered. Food was good. Tasted just like how I’d cook it on the grill!

I ordered food, delivery, from here about a week before I went to dine in with my family. The hot dogs were so old they had a thick skin and were wrinkly. My dad and I ate lunch there and the food just seems sub par at best. They are not big on quality at this location. They are a Christian company and it definitely was a nice place to be. It felt good 🙂

This place was great when it first opened. Orders tasted good, came correct, and the place was clean. More recently, orders are incorrect, an employee appeared to sneeze while fixing an order, and if you realize there’s something wrong and ask for the wrong item to be fixed the employee asks for the whole tray back but only replaces the wrong thing then puts it back in the same tray (example: takes the container with fries back to get the grilled chicken sandwich out before replacing with the chicken strips that were ordered on top of the same now cold fries and will complain if you only want to give the sandwich instead of the whole order over).

The burgers were very good just like eating a burger at a cook out or a pic nic in the park like back in the day!! We have eaten there twice in a week the second time we went wasn’t the best as the first time .. a few things were forgotten and the coleslaw was just plain chop up cabbage .. the burger was still really good as well as the onion rings..The pineapple shake was amazing..Thank you for giving us a good old fashioned burger w no fancy crazy toppings..cheddar cheese y’all use made the burger great..Thank you …

Miss “Brittany” finally came to the counter after waiting for ten minutes. Then she stared at us for five minutes before we were able to order. After repeatedly asking for ranch and being told it was free and then NOT GETTING IT she gave us our drinks. Then snapped at us to come get our food. After being told by four people that her trash cans were full she proceeded to yell at them and say not to stack it on the can. It wasn’t as if they had any other place to stack it. She then yelled at them for holding the door open because she “was cold”. All this happened while we ate. The trash has still not been taken out and she continues to laugh and joke in the back while ignoring customers.

Talk about good service. 0/10 would not recommend. Food was great though.

Terrible service. My wife and kids waited at the door until 10:45am and no one came to open the dining room but the drive thru was working fine. We did not stay. Will not be back.

They don’t always get the order right, but anytime I’ve needed it corrected, they always go above and beyond. The kids are super polite and the staff seems to care about good service, unlike most fast food places these days. Excellent experience tonight.

TL:DR – I’m not happy or excited to leave a review this negative but value is especially important to people right now. The value and taste just aren’t there. I have never experienced a burger like this at an actual cook out. I have gotten much better value and better tasting burgers from gas stations (not even remotely exaggerating or joking). If you’re looking for a decent value and at least “good” food for your money, you might want to look elsewhere.

Pros –
1. The drive-thru line speed was reasonable for it’s length and the staff interactions were friendly enough.
2. My order was correct on the receipt

Cons –
The food was below average for quality & quantity vs. price.

Rating Explanation –
2 Stars ONLY because the employees were nice and fast enough, as well as seeming competent for what they have to work with. I would rate 1 Star if 0 Stars was an option. The only stars I can give is due to the service, not the food. The service was actually kind of surprising considering the service at most fast food chains is atrocious lately (super slow, orders are horribly incorrect and/or the employees are unpleasant to interact with).

Full Story –
I decided to give them another shot tonight, I haven’t been there since a very underwhelming experience right after they opened and figured I’d try it again since there always seems to be a line in the drive-thru (I do NOT understand why there is always a line). After this experience, nothing has changed since the first time and I won’t be going back for a third.

I ordered a “Big Double” with bacon, lettuce, tomato and pickle with a large fries. The total came to $8.15.

The so-called “Big Double” has patties which are barely larger in area than a Krystal burger patty (if I had scales I would have weighed them) and very close to the same thickness of a Krystal burger patty but were EXTREMELY dry. After I got home, while I was adding cheese (I don’t like Cheddar cheese, I added my own American cheese.), I was so utterly underwhelmed in the value I had received, I had to take pictures of it. It also had considerable area which was nothing but bun (I tore off the parts of the bun which had nothing between top and bottom of bun).

After showing it to a family member, I was compelled to submit the pictures with a review in case anyone looks to the reviews hoping to ascertain what type value they will receive at this establishment.

Side notes : My apologies to the Cook Out employees, I don’t know if this will have any impact on your work, but this was kind of awful. I also removed the cashier’s name from the receipt, it’s irrelevant information since the order appeared to be correct and I’m not looking to denigrate employees for the quality / value received at the establishment, the issue is outside of their purview of responsibility.

I included a Bicentennial quarter in the disassembled picture for reference of scale.
