I’m honestly disgusted with my recent order. I paid $8 and somehow ended up missing an entire corn dog and half of my cheese bites. How does that even happen? If I’m paying for food, I expect to actually receive it — not half a meal.

The workers at this location tend to close at night whatever time they want (like last night 1/26/26) I pulled in line at 2:50am, 40 minutes before their posted closing time (3:30am), and they refused to take my order after silently letting me sit in the drive through for 5 mins and then rudely told me they were closing early. I get it, sometimes people have things to do and places close early, but there is absolutely a correct way of going about that but they were just plain rude.

By far the worst Cookout location we’ve ever visited. Took us a solid 30+ minutes to get through the drive through, drinks were 99% ice and the tea was extremely watered down. We got about 5 fries per box as well (no exaggeration there either)

Good food. We went drivethru with our dog this time. Got the dog 2 burgers, with no seasonings, as well as our 2 trays. Food was loaded and filling.

A very quick experience, we were in and out in less than 5 ish minutes. Although the food was pretty mid. Although not a bad place to go to in general, just not as savory as places around.

Dangerously Undercooked Burger – A Serious Health Concern

I visited Cook Out in Statesboro, GA, and was served a severely undercooked burger. Unfortunately, I had already eaten most of it before realizing it was raw in the center. This is completely unacceptable and poses a serious health risk.

I have attached photos as proof, along with my receipt. I am now feeling unwell and will be reporting this incident to the local health department. Proper food safety measures must be enforced to prevent this from happening to anyone else.

I urge management to take this issue seriously and ensure their staff is properly trained in food preparation. Serving raw meat is dangerous, and I hope immediate action is taken to address this.

I asked if the fries were gluten free and was told very rudely by the cashier that they are not. That is incorrect and I’m posting this for other allergy sufferers who may like to know. The fries (alone) ARE gluten free. However, they are cooked in oil that causes cross contamination. When I opened my mouth calmly to explain the difference, the cashier yelled at me and wouldn’t allow me to speak. For those who are celiacs or have a strong gluten allergy, they will likely want to avoid their fries. For someone like me who has a mild wheat allergy but does not have celiacs, trace amounts of gluten from the oil they’re fried in will not affect me. I can eat them fine. Also, the place was freezing cold.

Stood in line for 30 minutes to order food, but it seems like the drive-through line was moving quicker than the inside line. It seems as though they were only focused on drive-through and not taking people‘s order on the inside if they need more staff than they need to hire more staff, but waiting in line for 30+ minutes to order and then I just decided to go outside and get in the drive-through to order food since it was moving quicker.

I’m not one to “bad review” a company- but this one definitely deserved it.

Almost every experience I have at this Cookout isn’t pleasant, but this visit has topped them all and definitely wasn’t going to let it go without a review.

On September 28th at 12:48 I decided to go to cookout for a slice of cheesecake and an order of chili cheese fries. I waited in the first lane for over twelve minutes as the other lane was moving along and no one was taking my order- after four vehicles orders were taken before mine, and no response at the speaker- I chose to drive around as there was no way to back up and get in the other line.
When I got to the window, the cashier asked me to “drive back around so my order could be taken at the speaker, they aren’t able to take orders at the window, and the first lane’s speaker isn’t working”.

However, I kindly let her know there isn’t a sign to let that be known that the speaker isn’t working or a cone to block the traffic from using that lane.

She still refused to take my order, with an attitude- states that “their policy doesn’t allow for a sign to let us know that the speaker is down” and again asked that I drive around. I definitely was not going to drive around and wait again.. so I chose to leave, because at this point Cookout has wasted a half hour of my time and I didn’t want things to take a turn as I was already very frustrated and exhausted.
The right thing to do in this situation is to apologize for the inconvenience and take my order as this is an issue their part- However it seems no one here has any common sense, respect, or courtesy.
I would strongly recommend for the Statesboro Cookout to take a look at their night shift crew and make some changes. *Not to mention they have shorted me on my change, not once but twice when paying with a $100 bill* Not the brightest crew!
