We stopped and got a piece of cheesecake and I have to say, what a surprise. It was very good. I got mine with peanut butter cups and wet walnuts. My wife’s was with bananas, strawberry and wet walnuts. They both were great.

Someone recommended this place so I had high expectations. The strawberry milkshake was good but everything else was poor quality. The hot dog was lukewarm, tough, and shriveled up, and the bun was a bit stale. The “chicken” quesadillas were awful. One didn’t even have chicken in it! The beef burger had a nice flavor but it was shriveled and tough too. The tables and floor were very dirty, trash cans overflowing. I’ll never return.

I ordered a burger, chili cheese fries, shake and drink. The drink was ok. The shake was so thick I couldn’t drink it, I had to eat it, but it tasted really good. The burger bun was just falling apart, the burger was bland. The biggest regret was the chili cheese fries because the chili was burnt. Ill chalk this up to a bad shift, but the visit was disappointing.

As of the current date the dining room is open. like most places these days they have gone up on their prices but still maintain a pretty dang good deal. This particular visit was a bit of a disappointment in the fact that they put enough seasoning on my fries to do maybe five plates. They were getting busy and I was in a rush to get back to my mother-in-law who we take care of so I just opted did not to complain. The bathroom was clean and so was the restaurant. Cookout is ideally located on Clemson boulevard amongst all the stores and close to a Walmart as well as other eateries and coffees.

It’s a fast food place. My favorite is the Cook Out style hot dog. I grew up with them! Good hushpuppies, too.
