This location is usually good, which is why it’s the only in Columbia I go to. However, today (2/17/26) I ordered a chicken strip tray w/ cajun fries and cheese bites. They gave chicken nuggets instead of cheese bites. I turned around and the cashier was very friendly about getting me the cheese bites. Everything was good, until I found a string of hair wrapped inside one of the cheese bites. This is so upsetting and quite disgusting.

I can’t make this up!! I came here twice and every time my food is always raw in the middle then I try to call them and I get sent to voice mail. This is unacceptable. Cookout will never have my money ever again. The workers are always yelling, they move so slow even when there not busy spent $13.73 just to only eat my hush puppies and ranch wrap this is just terrible do better.

Order constantly wrong. Ask for slice cheese they give you squeeze cheese anyway. Ask for lettuce tomato pickles and onions they give a broken half a piece of lettuce and broken tomatoes thicker than the bun, nothing else. Every order wrong every time any time of day or night. Never again

I had a very frustrating experience at the Cook Out on Harden St today, December 28th, around 5:20 PM.
The attendant’s communication was extremely unprofessional. She used so much slang that I genuinely could not understand what she was saying, even when she was telling me to proceed with the order. Ordering food should not be this difficult. Clear and respectful communication is the bare minimum in customer service, especially in a drive-thru.
I have lived in the United States for six years and have never struggled this much to place a simple order. This was not an accent issue, it was a lack of professionalism and clarity. The interaction felt careless and rushed, and it completely ruined the experience.
I usually enjoy Cook Out and have had many positive experiences with attentive and clear staff, which makes this visit especially disappointing. Management should seriously address communication and customer service standards at this location.

The food, was meh okay, not the worst but a little under average. The grill so call Cajun chicken sandwich okay, but it was definitely not Cajun the same goes for the Cajun fries. The service was the best part. They could definitely use a better management team to living up the place and the food. Don’t get me wrong there’s great potential here. I think the portions could be a little bit more beefier and it can use more time to marinade. Over all I would give it a 4.5 out of 10. I’ll give it another in the near future.

I was in the drive thru and the girl at the window put crates in front of car for close to an hour. Like what in the world, I am hungry and I want to order my food. Also, I had to go back around because they did not ring up another burger and fries on my order. Poor customer service and they don’t listen.

The service is good; the food is hot! I highly recommend the white cheddar cheese bites if you can. Perfect pricing for college students such as myself. Though I must say, it can get quite busy on the weekends.

I am from out of state and was here visiting with my family and this was by far the worse experience of our trip. The person taking our order was very rude, short and didn’t seem interested in working. There was a group of people sitting in the dining area but the dining area was roped off and we could only sit outside. When they gave us our food, they were more unsure of our order than we were as it was a group of 6. The receipt on the bag was incomplete and we were missing half our order. It seemed like the person taking our order was new and mad at us for trying to get food. It was very loud inside that they could barely hear us when we were ordering and we felt very rushed.
The food was fine, the experice was so bad that it ruined our appetite. I sure hope all of the other cook outs are not this bad.
