Interior is stunning and the food is good enough to make it worth the effort to make a reservation, especially for celebrating something. Our waiter could’ve been warmer, but the rest of the staff I interacted with were all great.

– Tonnato crudo: tuna felt fresh and the addition of artichoke hearts + crisps on top made it a well rounded dish
– Fettuccini bolognese: great quality pasta + perfectly cooked. The serving was kindly split between my friend and I to share
– the Spritz Contessa was very solid

Service was AMAZING. Everybody was so friendly and sweet. The food was incredible. The lobster pasta was the best pasta dish I’ve ever eaten in my life. The veal cutlet was crazy good too. This is definitely now a top 3 favorite Boston restaurant!!

This place is a homerun. We went for early dinner on a Sunday. It wasn’t packed (b/c of the hour). Kind hostess, attentive team but without being overly intrusive. Our server, Conner, was informed on the menu, made thoughtful recommendations.

My hubby ended up with two glasses of their Chablis by the glass and I had two glasses of the Dom by the glass. Both were perfect and generous pours by the Som.

For food, they brought a bread basket with focaccia bread, olives, and parmesan cheese. I the had the meatballs (which were a 10/10) and hubby had the insalade verde (8/10). For mains, I had an amazingly tasty corn ravioli with a brown butter (10/10), and hubby had the scallops with capers (8/10).

The overall vibe was fun from the ambiance and the team. A few stuffy patrons but overall, this is a must stop in Boston. We’re foodies used the Michelin stars in SF and this place holds its own. ❤️

The restaurant has an impeccable atmosphere and service. The spicy lobster capellini has such a creamy and a hint of spicy flavor. Chicken francese was so juicy and not oily at all. Their drinks are also very well made, great cocktails and not overwhelming. View is awesome, especially during sunset

Overall, we may try the restaurant again. We went to meet up with a colleague for dinner on a Tuesday night and it was packed. I ended up getting the Shrimp main, with Prawns. Id say this was their best dish of the night. It was slightly dry but at the suggestion of our waiter we got the peppercini butter sauce which was awesome. We got the squash starter which was really good and buttery. We tried the tuna starter but the combination with the artichokes was overpowering. The experience was great however their ambiance is top notch and our waiter was superb. Dinner was expensive at almost $500 for three.

We came here to celebrate my birthday, and wow, it completely exceeded my expectations. I’ve had my fair share of pricey Italian spots, so honestly, I came in thinking the food would be just okay, and the view and atmosphere would make up for it. I was so wrong. The food was absolutely incredible, super fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.

You have to try the squash carpaccio, it was unlike anything I’ve ever had: light, refreshing, and full of layered flavors. On top of that, the service was outstanding. Honestly, I couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate. It really does live up to the hype.

Tip: Make sure to book a reservation at least two weeks in advance, this place fills up fast!

Tried Contessa Boston rooftop and it was such a lovely experience. The vibe in the evening is cozy and chic, definitely makes the atmosphere enjoyable. The food was delicious and well-prepared. It was my first time trying lobster – super fresh and tasty. I also had the salmon, which was grilled perfectly. Personally, I didn’t enjoy it with the pesto sauce, as I felt the pesto overpowered the salmon’s flavor. Maybe a different sauce would pair better, especially since we also ordered a salad that came with pesto, so it felt a bit repetitive. Overall, though, it was a great experience – I’d recommend it for both the food and the beautiful rooftop setting.

Contessa was one of the best choices I’ve ever made for spending a rainy, foggy night celebrating my husband’s birthday! We loved the view, and the interior atmosphere was amazing.

Reserve in advance!

All the food we ordered was delicious, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The portions were just right.

I had an incredible experience at Contessa in Boston! The views are absolutely breathtaking, making it the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. The service was top-notch—attentive and friendly, ensuring we felt well taken care of throughout our visit.

Now, let’s talk about the food! The Panettone French Toast was a delightful twist on a classic, bursting with flavor and perfectly executed. And the Carbonara Scramble? Simply fantastic! It was rich, creamy, and so satisfying.

Overall, Contessa is a must-visit for anyone looking for great food and an unforgettable atmosphere. I can’t wait to return!

Mostly amazing experience. Great rooftop spot and lively atmosphere. The food was mostly extremely good, especially the lobster capellini which was incredible. Also the ice cream was delicious. The oysters were very small and were strangely served with a very spicy sauce – we had to ask for the usual sauce which took a while. The salad was substantial but a bit boring. The salmon was very good. The service was extremely good, with the notable exception of a woman (not sure who) who showed up twice trying to impose on us some wine that was clearly bad. But otherwise they went out of their way to make us happy. There was an amazing lightning show that night. Well worth a visit but I think you need to research carefully what to order.
