Contento Cafe is a modern Mexican restaurant in South Salt Lake, serving breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Open 11AM – 8PM Tuesday – Thursday 11AM – 9PM Friday 9AM-9PM Saturday, Sunday, 9AM – 8PM Closed Monday. We create crave-worthy food made with the highest quality ingredients, catering to both the health-conscious & the flavor-obsessed. We use organic ingredients as much as possible. Our steak, pork, and eggs come from Utah Natural Meats; Chicken is organic and antibiotic-free, Salmon + Shrimp are wild-caught. We fry with grass-fed beef tallow, cook with avocado oil, and never use any seed oils. Our kitchen is gluten-free, and everything is scratch-made. We have a full liquor license and a full espresso bar!

I’ve been in Salt Lake City for about a month trying different places to eat, and this is the first one that truly impressed me. The food is packed with flavor and the tastes are perfectly balanced. Everything came out in less than five minutes, which was amazing. So far, this is easily my favorite place in the city. Highly recommend!

They mightve been the best enchiladas ive ever had. The green sauce was very flavorful, beans and rice were great and it seems the ingredients are all organic. Drinks seemed ok but the food was definitely the star of the show. It was so good we went back and tried something else. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back

This place is a hidden(but shouldn’t be) gem in salt lake.
With an entirely gluten free menu there’s no worry I might consume something contaminated with gluten which makes me super sick. And the food was SO GOOD!
The owner chatted us up and every employee we made contact with was chill and kind.
Will definitely be going back! Kenny and JuJu were the best servers!

Oh my gosh! I have found my favorite Mexican restaurant! The food they serve is actually healthy and so delicious! They make their own corn tortillas with heritage corn, none of that hybridized crap every one else uses. The food is gluten and seed oil free, its all natural right down to the eggs they use! You can eat here without regrets! You’ll leave with a smile. The staff are friendly and attentive. I think you’ll love it!

Wow! What an amazing lunch, I ordered the shrimp tacos and my friend ordered the cheese enchiladas. The corn tortillas are to die for and there’s something in the tacos that gave it a bit of sweetness. I asked the server and she said it was a secret but my goodness, it’s phenomenal. I got a spicy Margarita, the perfect amount of kick, and wonderfully made. The guacamole is 10/10. It’s a little loud so conversation was a bit difficult, but we must’ve come during the lunch rush. Service is quick, there was a woman and a man up front and they were so kind and cracked jokes with us. Great first date place, great lunch spot. Thank you Contento!

I wish I could give 10 stars! This place is truly a gem. The food is phenomenal, clean, gluten-free and seed oil free, a true rarety these days. The coffees are really good and beautifully made! I got pineapple chicken tacos and they were 10/10. The restaurant is clean and surrounded by beautiful plants! The owner was so incredibly kind, and took time out of his busy schedule to chat with my friend and I. He brought me a free refill on my coffee, AND brought my friend and i free churros to try just because. Really kind gesture. I will most definitely be back, and will be telling all my friends to go here!

This place was solid! One of the best, if not the best, Mexican place I’ve been to in Utah. The handmade tortillas were perfect texture, my shrimp tacos were well seasoned and absolutely dripping with sauce and juice. Absolutely will be going back! I’ll also add that even the beans and rice were amazing! Beans were well seasoned and rice was perfectly cooked! I’d highly recommend trying this place out!

The only thing I hate about this place is that it’s so far away from my house because I would want to come here more often. The portions are really good (which is nice because it is on the pricier side). But the price is justified because of how delicious and high-quality the ingredients are. It’s very rare to find a place that seed oil free, grass-fed meat, and gluten-free options. Also, the staff is super friendly and the interior has a great atmosphere. Solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Delicious food, great flavors! Yum yum yum! The table got the mole, the Contento bowl, chicken tostadas, the limeade, among other things. Seed oil free to boot? Quality food and the service was accommodating and patient. 10/10 would go again and would recommend!
