First and foremost: he shorted me a couple ounces on the pork, and while it may be a small amount, that’s still not appreciated. I got the pulled pork cause that’s usually the safest intro to a BBQ spot, but it was surprisingly dry and chewy in an unpleasant way. The guy claimed he smokes the pork for 20 hours, which I find hard to believe considering the texture and blandness… maybe the heat is just too high or they aren’t wrapping it right for smoking? I dunno man, but for a smoke spot, it was one of the most disappointing pulled porks I’ve had.

The BBQ sauce tasted like cheap, bottled BBQ sauce with a bunch of coarse pepper in it—flavor was, again, just kind of meh. Unfortunately the meat was subpar enough that BBQ sauce is required… so that was another mark against it.

I look forward to little smoking joints like this, and feel terrible giving them such a bad rating! But honestly, I expect so much more from my BBQ—ESPECIALLY down south. I gotta be honest… I just don’t understand how this place is rated so high. The guy was a bit of a curmudgeon who seemed irritated when I asked about his smoking process, so I don’t imagine the reviews are for ambiance or service.

Pricing was more affordable than many smoke joints, but that reflects quality I suppose.

10/10 service from Mr. Tim. He’s a very hardworking family man who takes pride in his business. Been eating here since it opened and it truly is such a gem to the Hermitage community. If you go I recommend the Classic Pulled Pork Sandwich with a side of mac n cheese or grab you a pound of BBQ! Reasonable prices as well.

If looking for good brisket….it’s just OK here. Man served mush Mac and cheese knowingly. Walmart flavored coleslaw slaw. Baked beans were OK. Not quality or quantity for your money.

Pretty good barbecue, had to pull pork sandwich and some macaroni both were good and flavorful.
My girlfriend had the sausage plate and some brisket, and she enjoyed both of those as well.
This is definitely one of the better barbecue places in the Nashville area.

I’m always looking for good bbq. I found it today. The brisket was not sliced and came in big chunks, I was a little surprised. Once I popped it in my mouth after a small dip in the sauce, WOW moist and super flavorful. I came here for the ribs. A full rack of dry rub ribs will run ya about $25. Just as amazing. I wish I could come here every day. Terrific job.

The bread and the brisket melted in my mouth. The sauce was just the right amount of spicy, and it was a stop and go situation (which was convenient). I will say, however, that the jumbo isn’t very jumbo (so you might need to double up). Next time I’m in TN, I’ll stop by again.

The food was fantastic, some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had. Parking was a bit confusing and it took a couple of minutes for him to come out to the trailer and take my order. Hard to hear him because of the nearby road noise. Prices do need to be updated, but it was only a dollar off the menu, paid cash.

I was on my way home from Kentucky to North Carolina and stumbled across Constant Smoke. I wanted brisket, but they were out, so I got pulled pork. The reason I wanted brisket is that so few places do pulled pork right. Their pulled pork was unbelievable. It was very smoky without being harsh, and the smoke enhanced the flavor of the pork rather than overpowering it. I got hot sauce, which was good, but honestly, the meat stands on its own without a sauce. I wish I could give it 10 stars. I grew up in Western Kentucky and know good barbecue. Now that I live in NC I have to suffer through the tasteless mush doused in vinegar that’s passed off as barbecue where I live. Constant Smoke is easily the 2nd best barbecue I’ve ever eaten and the best in 15 years. The first, now closed for 15 or so years, is Capital Barbecue in Frankfort, KY (the owner and pit master was from Owensboro, so it was Western Kentucky style).
