Owned and operated by the third generation of the Consiglio family. Established in 1938 on Wooster Street in New Haven, Consiglios still serves some of the best Italian food in New Haven. Our patio is beautiful! Ivy covered walls, flowers and granite tables will make you feel like you’ve been transported to Italy! Reserations suggested but not required.

Amazing and authentic italian food served with class. Super amazing food. Since 1938 the sign said. Family atmosphere and everyone was just happy there. We went without a reservation and was seated at the bar and we got super lucky because just at that point the whole place filled up it was fun watching the different foods coming out. Everything looks better than the last.

As a person with a gluten intolerance Italian door is rarely something I partake in aside from caprese or salad. Consiglio’s is not your typical Italian restaurant, they have somehow transformed authentic Italian food, I don’t know how they managed to make a fresh gluten free pasta but they did. The atmosphere is clean, sophisticated and inviting. Our server was absolutely marvelous and gave impeccable recommendations. Our entire party was extremely happy.

It was very easy to make a reservation online. Everyone was exceptionally nice, from the parking attendant to the waitstaff. Our food and drinks were delicious. This is our new favorite spot! Highly recommend!

Absolutely delicious the spicy Gorgonzola pasta is one that you won’t ever forget. This is our second time because it’s just so good. I also had tried the stuffed shells and those were yummy. Meatballs are okay but the fried calamari is super yummy. Mark our waiter this second time was amazing. Very personable super attentive and kind. He even split the calamari for us with our salads which was a great detail/touch. Made sure I always had water and checked that our meals were good. Thank you mark for giving us such a great experience here and we will definitely be back! Do make a reservation they are always so packed!

Excellent, top notch establishment. Food was delicious and portions very generous. The stuffed squash flowers were amazing and tiramisu a must have. We also ordered the calamari, I had chicken Rosa, and my husband had the veal parmesan. Private parking lot available which alleviates stress of parking (on Brown St, 2nd driveway on right). Our server, Mark, was phenomenal. We hope to get him again next time! Edited to add: I would recommend dining on the beautiful patio if weather permits!

As this was the first Thanksgiving for our family home, we decided that we would treat my mother to a great meal. This has been a favorite of my wife and I for years, so made all the sense. Was a first for mother so we started with fried mozzarella and the clams casino (which were the special) and they were both excellent. My wife had her “goto”, Chicken Rosa and I had the lobster ravioli. My mother followed me and my sons had chicken parmigiana. My mother was more than impressed with the meal and of course, my wife and I were beyond pleased. The service was excellent as always and my mother enjoyed the renovations. Only negative is that we wish a few items were back on the menu (Veal Champaign and Crepes Consiglios)…but we will be back again!

As somewhat of a celebration, took the team out for dinner, and this my first choice. Been coming here for years with my wife, and it’s always been excellent. Last time I was here, the dining room was not open, but thankfully the majority of interior renovations are now done. And to be honest, it looks great! They also have reduced the menu, which is unfortunate, but many of the things I like still exist. I ordered for the table the fried mozzarella and two plates of calamari, and it disappeared quickly. I ordered the lobster ravioli, along with two others in the group, and it was great.

If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars, I would. Everything from the service, to drinks, to food .. amazing. Our waiter who unfortunately I didnt get his name was AMAZING! He offered us everything possible, he was funny and very welcoming. He attended most of the tables nearby and I overheard almost everyone having a great time with him as the waiter. The food was certainly my favorite part. Safe to say this is a new favorite spot for my boyfriend & i.
