I had to wait to get the order I had placed because a worker did not come in. The manager was very apologetic. The Hot tamales were a little bit spicy for me but not too much. I made a hot tamale casserole with them that turned out very well. In my opinion, they are definitely worth the price. I certainly would buy them again.

When we are in town, my wife always calls in for some tamales. We picked up 7 dozen. We each had a hotdog while we were there. They were both good. The lady at the window was very nice.

This is about the only place in Monroe that you can find hot tamales. There is another place but they don’t stay open year round. We have been eating at Southside Coney Island for triple digit years. Yes try them out. You won’t be disappointed.

The best tomales, and their burgers and coney dogs are awesome too. As a matter of fact. Their pricing is still so fair. Those ladies see my smiling face a few times a week .

This is my stop for quick food. Coney Island is a tradition around the area. It’s doesn’t claim to have some special taste or having food indigenous if some other area or food representing some ethnic group. It’s simply a restaurant. That serves good food.

Best tamales hands down! Always fresh and delicious. An institution in Monroe. I always buy several dozen when I am in town from Dallas.

I always ate Coney Island growing up with my parents as a child & I still love it today. I even go to the one located in WestMonroe to sit down & eat inside. Now!! Since I’m older and I take my daughter there & if I don’t want to take our food to go.
