Cash only. Couldn’t even try the food. I’m willing to update my review if/when I happen to have paper money and am downtown.

What a treat! I ordered 1 Coney dog and a Coney Island burger. Perfection! Stwamed onions, coney Island chili , mustard on the burger. This establishment has been open since 1918..104 years. The owner was so much fun. He was very personable. Do yourself a favor and go here. Date of visit 8/12/22.

Great classic joint. Good service. Nice people. Excellent hot dogs. The almost-mandatory grilled onions make the whole thing unforgettable. Do not mistaken them for sauerkraut as they glisten in the front window of this classic storefront with the beautiful neon signage.

Coney Island has been a staple in Shamokin for over 100 years. Remember eating them whenever we would visit my relatives who lived there. One up and one down is the go to order. Only get there once every couple of years so I have to visit. A must experience if you find yourself in Shamokin.

This burger/dog joint is a step back in time, with a griddle in the front window, and old school interior. Try the One Up with sauce.

This is a public service announcement. This place is cash only and the closest ATM is six blocks away. For $24 we got 4 hot dogs, 2 cheeseburgers, 5 sodas and a bag of chips. Generally speaking, Coney Island affectionados and natives to Shamokin and the coal region will truly appreciate this place. There are no fries. You can’t get lettuce or tomatoes with your hamburger, and all of the soft drinks are from locally owned businesses and come in glass bottles. It’s also a step back into a bygone era. If you are a visitor and aren’t afraid to experience the local ambience, this place is about as genuine as a place can get. It’s worth it.

Prices are insane. I just moved here from Wilkes barre and I’d say the hot dogs are $1.50 more minimum than abes hot dogs and abes was better by far. Not sure how people are still eating here, I would imagine it’s for nostalgic reasons of growing up with it but if I went back to abes and saw those prices I’d laugh in their face and tell them you’re crazy. Never again….
