Time-tested diner serving hot dogs, hamburgers & breakfast in a colorful, old-school setting.

easily the biggest staple in Johnstown. I’ve been enjoying Coney Island for 25+ years and the quality has always been superb! from the Sundowners, to the hotdogs, to the fresh cut fries, everything is so delicious! they have the best chili sauce in the game by far. their breakfast food is amazing as well. the vintage atmosphere makes it even better! will forever be one of my favorites.

Amazing food with great prices, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. After 110 years, these guys got it figured out. So glad me and my father stopped by after checking out the flood museum. Will be coming back for sure!

I’ve been coming here for decades and the food has always been great, but the customer service has completely gone downhill. Over my last three visits, I left without even ordering because I was ignored while staff stood around talking instead of helping customers. I can understand delays when it’s busy, but when there are only one or two customers in the entire building, there’s no excuse for not even being acknowledged. Years ago, you would always see Sam there, and I truly believe that level of presence and management made the difference. Now it feels like there is no management at all. It’s disappointing to see a place with such a strong reputation fall this far

Came for breakfast and I can say I’m highly disappointed. From the start my order was messed up first the drink, then I was brought someone else’s food, then my food finally comes and the bacon is black and the French toast is the opposite kind of what I asked for. The fact I left a tip too because I paid with a card, if I would have known I wouldn’t have left one. I always recommend Coney Island breakfast to everyone I talk to but I can promise after today I doubt I’ll be back. Highly highly disappointed.

I’ve been visiting the Johnstown area for the last three years and every time we come to town, we make sure to visit Coney Island! The food is wonderful and the service is great! It is such a historical place to visit when coming to the city.

Five star hot dog joint! This place is part of Johnstown history, open for over 100 years. We ordered at the counter, and got into a silly argument, and the guys at the grill were laughing and joking right along with us. But they never missed a beat, building the great tasting dogs.
The meat sauce is not the classic ‘Greek’ sauce in flavor and spicing, but equally delicious. And the prices are very reasonable; four of us had lunch for under 20 bucks.

Wrll known local eatery. Bare bones. Walkup counter.limited selection of local class food.Csfetrria style. Given one of very few restaurants in downtown it gets a lot of traffic and has good rep by locals.
Yet as an outsider it’s virtue is it’s location. Not much else.
Seating is benches at bare tables dining hall style. They bus table after you leave.

I thought i had traveled in time back to 1968, and similar places i frequented in my youth in Washington, DC. A classic place, with classic staff and customers. I had a sundowner, a delicious concoction, not available anywhere else, to my knowledge. I now live in Geistown, only 10 minutes away. So plan to be a regular. Only one humble suggestion: all beef hotdogs for the occasional Jewish client.

Went here today to try the “famous coney island hotdogs” today my mom got a cheeseburger that was cold, and coleslaw that didnt have any dressing in it, it was just hot cabbage. Then I got two coney dogs-they come with mustard, onion, and chili, they were excellent and tasted good, and my dad got 2 chili dogs that were good as well, my dad and I and my mom all order medium fries and only my mom recieved her fries as well and they forgot my dads drink, after about 15 minutes there still was no fries and when we said something they kinda shrugged at us, so my father and I ended up sharing my moms fries, after he paid for all of us to have our own. Rather go to inlows in Duncansville, not wasting anymore time here.
