Legit salsas. Outstanding, really. Whatever chef they have is on point. We only did drinks, guac/salsas and a potato taco (which I had to savor since each bite was $3.50 with tax). It was exceptional and I hope they keep up this culinary standard. In time I predict they will lower their prices.
The bartender… a blonde woman… ooof. Can’t tell if she’s trying to be eccentric or if it’s natural, but we found it annoying. She’s a “contrarian”… fought us on everything we said. Call me crazy, but when you’re paying that much for food and drinks the expectation is that the service will be kind/polite/respectful.
The place was empty and we couldn’t get a table. The host let us know that all the tables were booked which is why we chose the bar, then went somewhere else after. I commented to the bartender, “You ready for it to get really busy?”, thinking it would be filling up soon. She replied, “it’s already busy”. She was strange and bossy about some other things and we couldn’t wait to leave.
And when we did leave, it was still half empty.
** Shout out to the food runner- a brown dude that was so kind and told all the names of the salsas and explained them in such a great way. They need to promote that guy!
They sat us outside where we were hounded by mosquitos.
Jicama salad was good and came out within 5 minutes, then we waited another 25 before any other food or drink made it to our table. Tacos came out and are so insanely expensive and mediocre. One taco for $18…
Drink orders were screwed up… nothing custom, ordered directly off their menu.
I mean, really just one thing after the other. It was like no one here had ever been to a restaurant before.
