The waitress was nice, but clearly rushed as she was the only one on the floor, and the atmosphere was nothing special. It was the food that was the most disappointing. I ordered a soda, grilled chicken sandwich, and the vegetable of the day (mixed vegetables straight out of the can). My husband ordered a soda, cheeseburger, and fries. We paid $47 before the tip, which was shocking for something that tasted like cafeteria food.

Food was decent but a bit overpriced however we did not realize it is a smoking establishment so it smelled like an ashtray and that took away from the food quality. I have no problem is an establishment wants to allow smoking but at least put up a sign and warn potential patrons. Had we known, we would have simply went elsewhere but by the time we realized we had already ordered our drinks.

At least we know about the smoking for next time and can avoid.

I apologize to those who are hungry in advance. This review may not be the one you want to read. I wasn’t gonna leave any review at first, because this was the only place that was open when we arrived in town, so we were happy to have somewhere to eat. The food was very plain and the service was fine. About five minutes after leaving the restaurant, the wife and I both knew something wasn’t right. We both felt sick. After struggling with it for a couple hours, I had to rush to the bathroom and lose it. The next morning, I spent some quite unpleasant time in the restroom, and that’s all I’ll say about that. I hate to leave a bad review for any business, but this was my experience. Hopefully , we feel better soon , and we can enjoy the rest of our time here in town.

This a are really great place to have a quick bite and some good drinks. Watch the game etc. Staff was excellent as well. Only iss we had was some patron was smoking a full bodied cigar that eventually overpowered the food and drinks so this caused us to leave due to the overpowering smell. If you can get past that , I still recommend this place.

Great food and atmosphere. Would have been 5 stars but the bartender said they were out of potatoes which was one of the sides for the ribeye and asked if we wanted mashed potatoes, I said yes and got up charged 3.99. Doesn’t make sense to get up charged when the original side wasn’t available to begin with and wasn’t told it would be an up charge.

Beautiful little town. A lot of old architecture in the area. Can’t recommend anyone come by ever based on our experience at this restaurant. Might have been an off day for all involved and I don’t usually besmirch a business based on a a single visit. BUT there wasn’t a single redeeming aspect of our two hour ordeal. An unnecessarily confrontational server and terrible food. No thanks!

Ate here for lunch on a Wednesday in July. Only one server/bartender was working. Only 3 tables were occupied. It took an unusually long time for us to have order taken, to get our food, and to get our tab, especially for as few people as were in the restaurant.

The food was decent. Would order the brat again. Friends would order the Reuben Burger and BLT again. DEFINITELY be ware of the coleslaw. It is super spicy!! Horseradish maybe?

Came to Hermann for work, and the barrel was the only place open. The food was very disappointing and the place was aswell. We went there twice, our first waiter was awesome and super cool, our second time our waitress was the worst. She was extra rude and seemed she didn’t want to be there at all. Felt like she didn’t treated us different because we weren’t locals. I feel bad leaving such a bad review because our first server was so awesome. Just trust this review if you have an opportunity to come to this restaurant just go anywhere else instead. You will thank me!
