I cannot say enough good things about Concept Kitchen. This was genuinely the best salmon I’ve ever eaten. Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Our party includes people who are gluten free, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was safe and clearly explained. The chef even came out to talk with us personally, and let us know they can accommodate gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, and pretty much any dietary restriction.
The entire staff was wonderful! Attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both incredible food and such thoughtful care for guests’ needs. Five stars all the way!

Just had the best burger I’ve ever eaten. A Thai-style burger that isn’t on the menu. Wasn’t rare (my preference), and it had crunchy carrots (I detest crunchy vegetables) on it. Still easily the best burger I’ve ever eaten. Also had cold noodle salad with papaya, mango, and pineapple. I don’t typically eat any of those fruits…and it was amazing. Absolutely delicious. $19. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would.

I had the pleasure of enjoying the chef’s tasting menu at Concept Kitching inside of Second State Brewing. Every course wowed us with refined flavors and intentional plating. Chef Goodman and his team did a spectacular job bringing fresh and exciting flavors to the late February table.
– The Kimchi Salad appeared simple at first glance but upon tasting the greens there was a deep and savory mild heat that assured me these four courses were going to be fun and memorable.
– Next was a Banh Mi Slider that continued the theme of bold yet approachable flavors. Slightly spicy yuzu chile aioli, crispy traditional pickles, and a well seasoned properly cooked patty on a toasted brioche bun.
– The Hokkaido Seafood Ramen featured shrimp, calamari and briefly seared scallops with scallions, cilantro and noodles. The seafood was expertly prepared and the broth emulsified with kimchi butter was the perfect accompaniment.
Obvious thought and care goes into the menu planning while the team is creative in their approach to using seasonal produce and presenting flavors that are interesting yet familiar.

The best food I’ve had in the Cedar Valley hands down in 4 years living here. Can’t wait to go back to eat. Went because I saw they had some gluten free options, not realizing THEY ALL are. Thank you. But more importantly the best flavors ever had in town. Filipino tacos were incredible! Carnitas were just right on the nachoa and the chicken Mac and cheese pleased my partner, so all good!! Thanks again!!!

Absolutely top! We dined here expecting average restaurant/bar food, and were very surprised to find a well-rounded dining experience. We had the chef’s tasting, which came with several courses. Each course impressed us more than the last. One of the chefs brought each course out (at very well-timed intervals) and explained each dish in detail. Truly a fantastic experience, both in service and taste, and we will exuberantly be back to dine again.

Clint does such an amazing job with every dish!! We love that we get to try something new with every visit. We had the secret menu Labneh dip with Pita bread and the Cajun Mac & Cheese. The Lamb Poutine (not pictured) was fantastic too. Different than your usual pub, and more savory too! We appreciate the fresh flavors and healthier options when going out to eat. Chef Clint Goodman makes tasty food in a genre hard to find in Cedar Falls. He personally explains the special ingredients when serving. This is inside Second State Brewing where the beers are always great. Tonight we tried the French Onion Soup and Gocaujang Honey wings.

We visited Concept Kitchen for the first time in early May and we immediately knew we had found a hidden gem. The menu has tacos and burritos every week with rotating entrees and small plates. Fresh, local ingredients often drive the menu and everything we have tried has been delicious. Always an amazing experience!
