We had an incredible experience at Con Vista al Mar in Austin! Everything we ordered was delicious. We started with the Micheladas and margaritas, both of which were super refreshing and perfectly balanced.
The Taco Ensenada was crispy and full of flavor, while the burnt habanero aguachiles were bold, spicy, and packed a punch in the best way. The calamari guacamole was a creative and tasty twist, combining creamy and crunchy textures that were addictive.
The atmosphere is laid-back but stylish, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this place for seafood lovers or anyone looking for something vibrant and flavorful in Austin.

I was drawn in by the vibe and decor as soon as I walked through the door. Sometimes you just want a laid-back dinner with great flavor, and this was exactly that. We ordered the Mexican Negroni, Charro Mexican Pilsner, fresh local oysters, the Costeño Ceviche, and a Taco Chilango. My boyfriend and I both agreed that the entire experience couldn’t have been better.
The drinks paired beautifully with the food, especially the Negroni. As a big seafood girl, I appreciated that the oysters were local and super fresh. The garnish they provide to top the oysters added a punch of flavor I didn’t even know I was missing. I’ve had a lot of ceviche in my life, and the Costeño was top tier. It had the perfect blend of shrimp, octopus, and scallops with avocado and other crisp, fresh veggies.
My taco was a 10 out of 10. It was bigger than a standard taco and packed with flavor. I picked it because it came with pork rinds, which I love, and it absolutely delivered.
The staff were so friendly and attentive. I felt genuinely comfortable the whole time and had the best dinner. We’re always on the East Side, so Con Vista Al Mar is officially going on our list for nights when we’re bar hopping or walking around the neighborhood.

Absolutely delicious, authentic mariscos! Flavors were great and it was well priced. I loved their aguachile in particular. Chill atmosphere to hang out and have drinks and tasty ceviche. Service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend.

Stumbled upon a true Austin treasure with the most incredible Mezcalitas and food! This place is a must visit that I didn’t realize I was missing out on. I went with a group of friends and we opted for the patio seating. Right from the start, the service was impeccable, 10/10. We each ordered something unique to sample a variety of dishes and were all blown away.
The Mezcalitas? Hands down the best I’ve ever had in Austin(and I’m a huge mezcal margarita enthusiast). They craft their own special in-house salt that pairs perfectly with the drinks. I went for the Classic Aguachili, loaded with fresh flavors and just the right kick of spice. I also sampled a couple of tacos: the Asenda and the I Know The Chef…still dreaming about them! We also got the guacamole calamari, which sounded interesting, but I’m so glad we ordered it, such an amazing surprise! Mahi Mahi Ceviche was another standout. It was absolutely delicious!

We wanted to try a little of everything, reading the bad reviews steered us in this direction. The server was super attentive and everything I would expect from a Latino/Mexican restaurant. Definitely gave Cancun/Yucatan vibes. (Not hotel zone, estilo pueblo) I ordered a ranch water (perfectly made), and my buddy ordered the michelada with the Mexican Sake and I was absolutely jealously. So, I too had one; the smokey mezcal, tangy full flavored Clamato and the sake chaser elevated it, next level status 10/10 would do it again. We ordered the calamari sope and buttery oysters to start. The sope was stacked with ring calamari and had believe a salsa macha drizzle and was topped with pickled onions. Huge portion and the salsa tied in all flavors. Sope was made from scratch and perfectly crispy. The oysters came out, they were raw with a warm butter and salsa topping. This tantalizing tastebud experience was savory, earthy and a must!! 10 oysters for $25 not too bad. We ended with some chilango taco which was shrimp and chicharrón, that came with chips and guacamole. That was tasty, loaded with shrimp and all the textures came together nicely. Tortillas were homemade and full of flavor. Over all 10/10 would recommend and do again.

Amazing Mexican seafood restaurant in East Austin, originally from Mexico City! They have a huge menu of ceviches, aguachiles, tacos, mariscos, sopes, tostados all with really fresh seafood bursting with tons of flavor. The vibe inside is great and the owners and servers couldn’t be nicer! The prices are also very reasonable for the quality. Pictured is the calamari sope and cachorra tostada loaded with seafood. Both were excellent but the cachorra was amazing! The marshmallow flan for desert was also great.

I learned about its sister Restaraunt in CDMX which made me so excited to try it. AAfter its opening and then reading mixed reviews I thought maybe take it off my list?? One day I needed a place for a late lunch and I decided to give it a shot and see for myself. First I love what they’ve done with the decor it really transports you! It was a perfect day out so we dined in the patio, which was great. It’s next to 7th st but not noisy. Our waitress was really friendly and my delicious drink was only $8 bucks! It had Mexican sake, beer and mezcal like a spin on a michelada. We had their famous Tostitos ceviche and it was delicious! So fun with it being served inside the chip bag. Their homemade hot sauce is good on everything. I’d go back for sure!

I’m happy Con Vista moved into this space, they’ve done a great job bringing a casual, fun, neighborhood atmosphere, and perhaps most importantly, seafood, which we have very little of in Austin. We tried the Tostilocos, Ensenada, the TJ, and the flan, all really tasty and fresh! For drinks had the Clamato and the classic marg.
Staff were super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend overall.
I saw a few reviews being critical over the prices but I find their prices are in line with similar places around town. We left happy and full.

Water tasted like soap. Burnt habanero aguachiles were super salty. Fish zarandeado was as bland as white rice. The guacamole was super salty. The tuna tostada was edible. The highlight was the tostadona. Was told by our server that we couldn’t order anymore food from the kitchen because it was closing at 7:50, yet a table was sat 10 minutes later and their order was taken.
