We are a woman owned, Latina owned business and we look forward to serving you. Established in 2020 as (Ezzys Treats) to Con Amor Bakery & Cafe in 2025. Hands down the best bakery in the cedar valley. They make the best croissants! We have tried so many pastries and have loved them all. Its a must try. They are super hospitable. I am allergic to Kiwi and they modified their tres leche croissant for me. It was soooo good. Their menu seems to change weekly. They have a lot of updated information on their facebook page.
They have a couple of tables so you can also sit and enjoy your pastries/drinks.

We drove 2 hours to come to this bakery and it was 100% worth it. The customer service is top notch. It feels homey and brings me back to bakeries in Mexico where they make cafe de olla and delicious pastries. You have to try this place. It is worth every penny. Absolutely phenomenal bakery and an incredible woman-owned business. Every single item is handcrafted, made with care, skill, and pride by a woman who built this bakery entirely on her own. That alone deserves respect.
You can taste the difference—these aren’t mass-produced, frozen, or rushed sweets. They’re thoughtful, high-quality, and honestly some of the best baked goods I’ve had in Iowa.
I’ve seen people complain about pricing, and that’s wild to me. You are paying for handmade perfection, premium ingredients, and the talent of someone who truly knows her craft. If you want cheap, factory-made pastries, there are plenty of drive-thrus for that. But if you want exceptional quality, this is exactly where you go.

I sell dessert for a living. That said, I have pretty high standards for sweets and Con Amor Bakery & Cafe absolutely ticks EVERY box you could ever have. Her croissants are among the best desserts I have had ANYWHERE. The fillings and fruit toppings are delectable and fresh. The pastry itself is honestly perfect. I do not believe you could make them any better than these. The mango and tres leches croissants were my favorite of the box but literally every one of the treats we got today was exceptional. This place is a true, real deal pastry shop that rivals any I have been to accross the country. You MUST try it but fair warning…go right when they open. They sell out quick for a reason and you dont want to miss out!

The cookies are thick and light & the blondies are sweet and perfectly chewy. I haven’t tried them all yet but I’ve enjoyed everything I have tried.
She did *just* open so give her some grace & patience if she runs out, it’s worth the wait though!

My boyfriend and I came to Con Amor for the first time today and were blown away by how delicious every menu item tasted. We got the vanilla fresita tres leches cake and the cake was perfectly moistened with a rich, sweet flavor while the strawberries added a fresh tartness. It was definitely my favorite! We also got the berry twist and the chocolate almond croissant and they were both flaky and packed wjth flavor.
We also got a hibiscus agua fresca and the strawberry crunch horchata. Refreshing and delicious!
The staff were also very patient and helpful and got our items out very quickly. All in all, I highly recommend Con Amor!

This gem in downtown Waterloo is on par with any major city bakery. I don’t think I’ve ever had a better croissant. Flakey, tender and buttery. The cruffin (a croissant/muffin) filled with a sweet caramel was…I’m not sure if incredible does it justice. 10/10. We’ll be back for more!!

The server I spoke with was absolutely lovely — so friendly and welcoming, which was very nice since I was 5 hours from home. I got the Mexican brown sugar cold brew which was delicious — much better than anything I could have gotten at Starbucks. Prices were super reasonable as well. Definitely would recommend!

Very tasty! Took a box of different pastries and was close to $75! Small portions for the price. Did I mention very expensive? so if you’re not willing to over pay for pastries this is not the place to come. If you have extra money then indulge yourself.
Good? yes! But… there’s other places with the same items for way less and same goodness. I wish them success, hopefully other people will continue to afford those prices.
