The food is outstanding. Every dish is rich in flavor, beautifully prepared, and clearly made with top-quality ingredients. The duck confit and foie gras are exceptional—perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and true to classic French gastronomy. Portions are generous without compromising on finesse, and each plate feels thoughtfully crafted.
The wine selection is excellent and pairs beautifully with the menu, while the desserts are the perfect ending to an already memorable meal.
Service deserves special mention: professional, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. The staff are knowledgeable, happy to recommend dishes, and make you feel genuinely welcome.
Overall, Le Comptoir de la Gastronomie delivers an unforgettable dining experience—authentic, indulgent, and full of character. Whether you’re a food lover or visiting Paris for the first time, this place should be high on your list.
The staff were super professional, attentive, and good at what they do. The plating was wonderful, and really complimented the dishes. The food was incredible. I ordered off of the seasonal menu and was not disappointed. The meal was super yummy, made well, and made a good impression. I highly recommend this place for food and groceries for the foodie!
In summary the food had good components but subpar execution. The frog legs were not seasoned and somewhat bland. The foie gras carpaccio was rich in texture but not in flavor – it was like eating butter by itself if that is your cup of tea. The onion soup was tasty but at first it arrived at our table lukewarm, so the cheese was not melted. We requested to be warmed up and the team was great to get it fixed – when it came back it was very enjoyable. Similarly, the foie gras ravioli was also not up to temperature so the dish did not taste as rich as desired. The duck magret was solid and we enjoyed this.
Service was quite kind and prompt and received our feedback. Overall I believe the food can be good tasting if it was executed correctly but maybe it was an off night for the chef. Either way we were disappointed since this was our last meal of the trip and the one we were looking forward to the most.
Back in Paris after several years, I had to go.
Went for solo lunch and from the get go the three young men running the service were executing on a hi level of service and hospitality. Wish I remembered their names for a mention.
Meal was amazing. Foie Gras Carpaccio, Duck Magret… Very nice by the glass wine options, and again service was top level.
Their store with fine food items is also a must for few things that are not available in my country.
Next time in Paris I will be back!
