Massive massive Sammie’s. Be prepared to wait some time in the store while they’re made. The time waiting should be spent observing the decorations in the store and all the wild snacks they have there. The sandwich itself is pretty tasty and like I said before, massive. We were so impressed with the flavors of the sandwiches we got – #2 with smoked turkey, chipotle mayo, pepper jack and Gouda. And the Godfather with the pesto mayo. I recently visited Compagno’s and tried the hot pastrami sandwich along with the deviled eggs. Hands down, they were some of the best deviled eggs I’ve ever had—perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. The pastrami sandwich was massive and absolutely delicious. Honestly, half of it was more than enough, and it didn’t disappoint at all.
To top it off, I met Bennett Compagno while checking out, and he was incredibly kind and genuinely great to talk to. Amazing food and even better people—I can’t wait to come back.

My and boyfriend went here based on reviews since Monterey has limited food selection, and we were shocked at how good this deli was. Super fresh, fast and massive portions. We got the full turkey, avocado, bacon sub and it was plenty for 2 people. Would recommend stopping here before visiting the aquarium since the aquariums food isn’t the best. The front desk gentleman was super kind!
